And the little shits didn't show up for trick or treating.
Not one. Zero. Nada. Zilch.
Now, before all of you accuse me of having unbelievable BO or halitosis that would knock a buzzard off a shit wagon, let's just say I showered this morning and I brushed my teeth...uh...a few days ago?

Seriously. Not one. Left the porch lights and foyer lights on. No takers.
Anybody want $15 worth of candy? I'll post it on E-bay later tonight....

I'm also stuck with $15 worth of candy... it will NEVER be finished, even by a candy-lover like me. Yesterday, I bought a bag of fruity candy (starbursts, skittles, etc) and a bag of chocolate (kitkat, whoppers, peanut butter cups, etc). I guess where I live isn't the best place for trick-or-treaters. :(

I'm also stuck with $15 worth of candy... it will NEVER be finished, even by a candy-lover like me. Yesterday, I bought a bag of fruity candy (starbursts, skittles, etc) and a bag of chocolate (kitkat, whoppers, peanut butter cups, etc). I guess where I live isn't the best place for trick-or-treaters. :(

When I was a kid, I lived on the outskirts of Shreveport, LA in a neighborhood filled with lots of a similar size. All the houses were set further away from the road, but hey, all the kids in that neighborhood could survive the journey. Heck, for one Halloween, we even had a big scavenger hunt that involved walking around the entire neighborhood seeking out clues, with several houses set up as haunted houses/safe houses for the hunt. When we were done, the clues led to a treasure chest hidden away in our house (6500 sq ft, so that made things a little trickier, given all the nooks and crannies this house had). Of course, the chest held a wonderful bounty of candy. What we did, compared to what kids do today, involved us actually working for the reward. :p

Back in Michigan, the road we lived on was about 3/4 a mile from the high way to the seasonal trail. There was about 10 families that lived on it, and none of us had less then 10 acres of land. 4 years there we never saw 1 kid on Halloween. I guess parents took their kids into Traverse City, or the sub-divisions that littered the area.

Several years ago when my wife and I moved into our current home, we went out and spent 30-40 bucks on candy.
We live in a decently sized residential area, so we thought there would be numerous tricker-treaters come by. We had less than 10 small groups of kids show up. We ended up taking most of that candy to work.
Needless to say we no longer buy candy for Halloween.

I do the same thing...at least, I think it's crappy. Turns out, several of our trick-or-treater's fought over the eyeballs!! :lmao: One was just adorable..."I want this one, and this one...and this one!" All eyeballs. That angel costume didn't disguise anything. :rotf:

My brother & SIL live on a street that's not part of a bigger sub-division, it's just one street with a cul-de-sac and an off shoot cul-de-sac. She always buys like 3 bags of candy and it's less than 20 kids total.

Didn't get a single knock. If I did, it didn't wake me up.
I only spent $4 on candy, and it's mine... ALL MINE!! (i like snickers bars :p)

I got 7 trick or treaters (more than usual). I bought cocolate covered wafer bars so the left overs will go into my lunchbox next week.

Wife came home with a huge bag of chocolate candy. We had one kid, just one, and that was my niece from the other side of town.......so, I see an appoximate 15 lb. weight gain in my near future.

Six bucks, two bag, no knocks. Guess living on a hill facing a street/backroad with no lights four miles north of town is a good thing from time to time.

And what I bought is what I really like. The candy was originally intended for the CR meeting, but since only 3 people showed up, the meeting was canceled. I'm just worried about a weight gain, though I've been pretty good. I've only eaten 3 pieces of candy so far. :p

Damn, that sucks.We bought about 30 bags of candy this year and maybe got about fifty trick or treaters from 4 to 8. I still got tons left and am giving it away at work. And it's not most of the cheap crap (Smartees, Dubble Bubble, etc.) either. Like Almond Joys, M&Ms, Junior Mints, Now and Laters, Reese's Cups..the good stuff.

We had a few trick or treaters at work, each dept had candy to give out...told a group of four boys to "help themselves" and later I realized that they took it all. :hammer: A copule of my friends stopped in so I could see their kids in costume. I enjoyed my night at work.
The main attraction in town was a "Haunted Hotel" in which 25 different groups each had a motel room, and the kids went door to door....they also had a free "haunted house"
"The Haunted Hotel concept had a great reception with the Chamber of Commerce, Nye County Juvenile Probation, the drug court, Nye County Search and Rescue, Building and Safety and the sheriff's office.
"We have 25 hotel rooms cleared around the pool for this special night, including our hospitality suite," said Crane. Each organization is decorating the doorway and windows of their room.

Since we do not have any indoor malls here, this was a great safe alternative for familes, plus it kept alot of neighborhoods quiet...this town is spread out over 25 square miles, so it makes things difficult for parents on Halloween.

I think we had 7-8 kids, including my own. I think the rain diden't help eventhough it stopped that afternoon and diden't start back up till 9:00 or so. Only spent about 3-4 bucks on candy (Yaaaaaaaa, Dollar Tree!).

We didn't have any, but I didn't expect any.
We met friends for dinner at 8 and when I went over to their house on Saturday, I was amazed at how much candy they had left over. They live in a small 1 street subdivision, but expected kids to be "brought in", and they just didn't get hardly any treaters.
The mall had a big deal going inside for younger and outside for older kids with a band and I think that may be where a lot of people took their kids.
We used to have a gazillion treaters come by when my kids were young. The subdivision was full of them and others would be brought in by parents in cars to go through too....it was a really safe neighborhood.
