My week wasn't to bad. Had a pretty grumpy night the other day, that wasn't helped with my computer trying to kick me in the nuts.
I called my wife, and she said we're getting bombarded with trick or treaters. We bought about 5 pounds of candy or so, and she was pretty sure it wouldn't even make it through the 2 hours of trick or treating they have on base.
I don't mean to disrupt anything, and I'll just stick my nose in for a minute.
We're only 118 comments away from making the October numbers for conservativecave correspond with what I had projected.
So close.....but not there yet.
Please comment, folks, either here or elsewhere on conservativecave.
Now back to the regularly scheduled program......
we need . . . schad. :-)

Probably not as bad but the normal frustrating stuff, been in the job for 8 1/2 years and am ready to move on.
Personal and national economics are a bit of a snag though.
Captain Morgan seems to be helping tonight though and after working in the morning am leaving tomorrow evening for a week of golf in the Pinehurst area of North Carolina. :hyper:
went to work dressed as a giant yellow banana, with the "stem" dangling between my legs and the other stem on the top of my head
was at work five minutes and had an emergency..am clearing an airway and opening up oxygen tanks dressed as a giant banana! resident is fine, was a little minor episode...I on the other hand am thankful I didn't have to do a full code dressed like a banana, can you imagine coming out of a heartattack and seeing that? :thatsright:
I caught the thread about your computer troubles. I had nothing useful to add, although I did have a few suspicions . . .
chin up, carl. the best job I have ever had, and still have, came in the middle of an economic downturn. smart companies see a downturn as an opportunity to ramp up in strategically important areas.
embellish the resume, and shoot it out some more. :-)

That was just like the icing on top of the cake. I don't know why, but I was just in a pissy mood that night. My puppy pissed on the couch, then on the living room carpet, followed by my son having a huge shit session, then I go upstairs to get onto my computer to relax a bit and it just starts beeping at me...
Not a good night. The rest of the week was pretty good though. I'm getting back into shape, settling in here pretty well, already advancing well in the job, and all in all just really glad we made this move.
My Halloween was pretty much ruined. As I said elsewhere, I had plans to join a group of CR's for a ghost tour/pub crawl in downtown Savannah this evening (in costume, too). I was all ready until I got the phone call that it was officially cancelled. :banghead:
So here I am, sitting here in my costume (minus the itchy wig), talking to you guys and drinking some Blue Moon (my room-mate left for the weekend, so this morning I picked up some beer ;) ).
My work schedule sucks this week. My hours are being cut in favor of slackers (folks who have received pay deductions for how poorly they treat customers are getting more hours than I am, who just got another raise :censored: ). So glad I bought that beer (and candy too).
Wait until winter comes, jones, you might change your mind.
Missouri being a southern state, I have no idea why they have such cold winters, winters one would expect to see in North Dakota or something.
Oh, I forgot; you grew up in Michigan.
So you know what it's like already.
put your wig back on, and take yourself to the happenin' bar in town. blow off the first few guys that hit on you, and take it from there. you have GOT to trust me on this one; I am a professional. :-)
:lmao:
I think I'm better off just sticking around here. If I'd still gone out, it would have been much earlier and with people I know. But since those people wouldn't answer their phones.... :hammer:
I usually do not leave campus after dark if I'm alone. So I'll just kick back and find a movie to watch this evening.
Schad is here, but it remains to be seen if she is willing to speak to us. :whatever:
:-)
hell, if THAT won't work, nothing will. :uhsure:
Well, with Schadenfreude here, we might make the last 85 we need.
Well I stayed at work every night this week until 9pm (I work a normal 8-5). I'm counting my blessings because there is so much work to do but they are really kicking my behind! I spent all week cleaning up the paperwork nightmare left behind by a co-worker who quit. She gave less than two weeks notice because she was going to have to wait and start 3 weeks later if she didn't get take the slot in the new hire group right away.
She doesn't think we know that but we're not stupid. Besides she let it slip and then had the nerve to show up one day this week to see how we were all doing. She's 22 and this was her first real job. No offense to any of our younger members but, there is something called professional decorum and she's yet to learn it.
Anyway, I'm glad she's gone for many reasons. I've just been forced to bite my tongue all week because another co-worker is really good friends with her. I'm suffering in silence. Well almost, I finally had to tell the owner about some of the major errors she made and explain to him why things are messed up.
There is some major office politics going on and I'm just emotionally exhausted. The upside is that I was asked to take the departed co-workers job which is a bit of a promotion for me because I will be doing the same duties but directly for the owner who has four times the amount of clients and business I have been dealing with on another team. And, I've been tasked with untangling all of the ugly knots that have accumulated for a long time. I may not survive until then though!!
I got dumped this week. :( I'm already drinking. :-)

I feel your pain. +5 for you, too, pal. :cheersmate:

We had a married couple in our shop back in Misawa. The OIC at that time pretty much let them run things. They where in charge of pretty much all our major programs. They moved to a new base about 6 months before a HUGE inspection. Everyone had nothing but great things to say about these people. Everyone loved them.damn!
Now... we where below minimal manning at that time (3 Active Duty 1 Civilian in a 10 man shop), and going through stuff making sure we're ready to go for the inspection, we find out that this couple hadn't touched a thing in the last 2 years. We had about a years worth of work with a full staff, to get done in 6 months with not even half the man power.
This was also going on while N. Korea was doing that stupid shit with the missiles and nukes, so we where spending a lot of time doing 24 hour ops, getting ready to go to war at the drop of a hat.
Suffice to say, you'll never hear a good word about that couple come from the 4 of us ever again.
damn!
Yeah, I'm subtly trying to change the owner's starry-eyed opinion regarding the departed co-worker. I'm just stressed beyond belief because of the mess and dysfunction in general. I have to bite my tongue daily because I just want to line everyone up and say, "Stop it!" I can't believe how bass-akwards they can be.
I'll whip 'em into shape eventually. Come hell or high water. :-)
I'm home. Took my dad out to dinner at his favorite catfish place. We watched a bit of the teevee together and he just left. I'm enjoying a nice cold beer.
As for my week, see the "WTF???" thread in the Cryin' in my Beer forum.
you aren't getting the bonus H5's unless it sucked more today. :bird:

Ahh, well today was actually okay. I think my boss must have taken her valium this morning.
Oh, and no trick or treaters, the light is out on the front porch and my doorbell doesn't work anyways. :)
Hah! Very fricking funny!
Ok Ass Peeps, I am here. :evillaugh:
Make me laugh. I dare ya! :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

I'm on Blue Moon #3, btw.
I agree completely. we have got to have a pic. otherwise, ACC, i will google up all of those tinkerbell pics*. :uhsure: :-)

Tinkerbell pics?! I thought I told someone to delete those... okay, which of you saved those pics without my permission?! :asssmack:
okay . . .
what's the worst part of rollerblading?
explaining to your parents that you are gay.
I heard that one today, and it killed me for some reason.
Frank, it was a glorious Halloween in MN. Usually when I have Halloween detail, I freeze my noortz off.

No little costumed brats here either. :-)

I am in a mood for trick or treats tonight.
w00t! Schade!
just bring coleman in in the senate race, baby. pleeeeeeeaaaase. we need it, badly.
Hey aren't you spoda be telling people not to link to FR. :lmao:
Now that's gay! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I am watching Uncle Buck right now. :evillaugh:
I bought the crappy candy so I wouldn't eat it. Not a single rugrat tonight!!! Drat!
I think he'll win. Actually I am 99.9% sure of it.
I do indeed dislike linking directly to FR. any link at FR that is worth reading links to an actual source. but after reviewing our traffic sources, perhaps I was being greedy. we get a LOT more from FR than we give in terms of pageviews.
consider that a hasty comment.
but, look. FR is the gold standard when it comes to non-liberal message boards. I say that because there are a ton of alleged libertarians, and alleged anti-neocons at FR. but I don't necessarily consider them a "conservative" board.

I'm watching Ghost Hunters, but it's a bit boring right now.
I can't be up too late, I start my second job in the morning.
Which along with a very anti-women mindset among some there is the reason I asked my account to be suspended.
you sound so . . . responsible. :-)
If Franken is kept out and Murtha is kicked out it may not be a total disaster.
I have nothing to do tonight. I postponed the project, the dodgers are done, and southern miss doesn't play until tomorrow night . . .
Schad, you haven't told us how YOUR week was . . . . :uhsure:
I would be lying if I didn't say it was ..... glorious. :-)
keep pushing it. you may get 5 H5's deducted. :whatever: :uhsure: :-)
Got a pic... but I think I shall wait a bit before posting it. :uhsure:
(no wig or bootcovers, though. :( Neither cooperated this evening).

Nice..............ya forgot the wig
Yeah, I know. My hair is so long (and the wig cap I bought actually tore) so I couldn't get the wig to work at all without my real hair showing. :(
Anyone else watching Ghost Hunters? ACC?You mean Ghost Plumbers? :-)

I love that show but it's usually all Preparation and no H. :-)

NICE ACC!!! You're adorable. I love the boots! Okay, what did the wig look like and what was the costume? I can only see part of it since you're sitting down.
Well, the costume was supposed to be Jane Jetson... the wig was in good shape after being shipped, but when I tried putting the wig cap on, it ripped. Oh well... The wig looked almost exactly like the one in the original photo at the costume site.

mia is bored . . . someone do something exciting. :whatever:
You're the host of this thread....spice it up baby. :evillaugh:
Oh now that's cute ACC!!!
I dressed as my son today. I wore jeans, sneakers, one of his t-shirts with skulls on it, a denim jacket and carried his guitar hero guiter, a slingshot and a transformers car in my pocket. I thought it was cute but everyone else kind of scratched their head....
as most of us already know, the duality of being part owner and part shit disturber obviously mixes me up. :-)
I have discovered that the background is a nice place to be at times.
LOL! How many kiddos dared to ring your bell tonight?
LOL, now that's original!
when was the first law "controlling" immigrants? 1700? 1800? slavery?
and, in view of that, when was being an immigrant a BAD thing?
I question the foundation of our immigration laws, just like I questioned the foundation of our laws that made it legal for terry schiavo to be murdered. I only bring that up, schad, because we agreed that it was the foundation of the law, and not the law itself, that mattered.
This lounge thread was pushing for Cryin' in my Beer status and is pulling toward a Politics status. When will you people start dragging it into NSFW status? Wait. I know. How is everyone's alcohol intake going? :p
Apples and pancakes!

point well noted. I will split them off.
and I am halfway through my case'de beer. :-)
MMmmmmmmmmm Apple pancakes.
Has your horrible work week become a distant memory yet?
I thought it sounded good as well.... how about some apple pancakes in bed?
Ahem :-)

****ANNOUNCEMENT FROM FRANKSOLICH****
****FRANKSOLICH MAKES AN ANNOUNCEMENT****
****ANNOUNCES FRANKSOLICH*****
****FRANKSOLICH ANNOUNCES*****
October has come out as franksolich predicted, edging March 2008.
New projection is November is going to come out as September did, perhaps better.
Thanks to all who contributed comments, here and elsewhere on conservativecave, so as to make franksolich accurate in his projection. franksolich can't be right without your help!
Sadly my older son lost his job about a month ago. He worked for a small company and the owner fired everyone, is trying to get out of the lease for the office, and moving back into a home office.
It's tough out there. He's temporarily working at a doggie day care with about 60-70 dogs all running around in a large yard. I love dogs, but I'd really be worried on that. He's had to break up some fights with the large dogs.
He's also got a couple "jobs" selling ads for a small website and for a small magazine. They're commission only---don't think he's sold anything yet, but he's just starting.
So Wretch, think of me, being tapped constantly for funds. Plus my boss beating me up (not literally) to make more sales. Aaaaargh, so glad it's Friday.
Now does that deserve a Hi-5? Hope that makes you feel better in comparison. :-)
Glad you made your forecast. Now I can slink off and go to sleep. It's been a rough week.
you absolutely qualify.
actually, we have another milestone that we can hit together. if we can bump new posts for the month up a bit . . .
What qualifies as a new post? Is it from a new to CC poster?
Wish I didn't qualify. I went to the stupid Sleep Center. I was busted by the doc. They have a "smart card" in that cpap machine. It showed I went 2 weeks w/o using it. He said the insurance company would be very angry with me.
He told me I only had borderline sleep apnea and he only gave me the darned machine because I had high blood pressure. I didn't like that guy from the beginning. I guess he doesn't like me, either.
That reminds me, I guess I'd better try to find that stupid spy "smart card" in my purse. He'll go ballistic if I lose it. Maybe the evil part of me wants to lose it. It's been that kind of week.

maybe SR just needs to soothe you to sleep better. :-)Oh, he's very soothing. I sleep like a rock. I've never had a problem sleeping, which is probably why I've resisted that cpap machine.
actually, we have another milestone that we can hit together. if we can bump new posts for the month up a bit . . .
Hope I helped at least a little bit reaching the new milestone. All this talk about sleep centers and cpap machines has made me sleepy. Heading off to find that stupid spy smart card. Might try that machine another time, don't want to hear the big lecture from that doc again. He's one arrogant doc. I guess I have a hard time with folks who are condescending and arrogant. It's a little failing of mine. Sigh.
Still nothing remarkable on Ghost Hunters. I'm slightly disappointed.
I even stopped watching to take a shower, it's still boring.
The "Live" shows were never quite as good as the others. Right now, I wish they'd show the Armory episode again from Season 1, where that sound guy got shoved to the ground by something they couldn't see. Probably the most intense paranormal phenomena they've ever had.
I don't know if this qualifies as a truly shitty week, but I've been wrestling with OSHA all ****ing week.
When you're dealing with the feds and you're conservative and you understand incompetence when you see it cloaked by a set of credentials................
Gasket is so far intact, but I dunno......
Evening, kids!
Evening, kids!
Hi, jen!
what did you do tonight ?
Get any trick or treaters Jen?
I live in an apartment complex on the third floor. Kids never want to work that hard for candy. :-)
But I spent the evening hanging with my sister and nephews. Good times!
Yeah, when I was in the apartment no trick or treaters either. I skipped going trick or treating with my nephews to take my dad out to dinner for his birthday tonight. :)
Well that sounds equally as nice! :)
