Oh my.
One wonders what the fuss is; franksolich has always advocated paper ballots.
It's not like it's just a primitive issue.

E-VOTING, WE HARDLY KNEW YOU
Interesting article. Glad to see $3 billion wasted...
The headline for voting technology 2008 might be this: Back where we started. Back to paper ballots, that is.
For the first time since touch-screen voting was invented, use of the high-tech voting machines has declined sharply. On Nov. 4, the majority of Americans will be filling out their ballots using old-fashioned paper and No. 2 pencils.
But it's been a long-strange trip back to the beginning. The gyrations of America's voting rituals began with hanging chads in 2000. Then came the Help America Vote Act of 2002, which set aside $3 billion to upgrade America's antiquated ballot system. Then came the gold rush towards space-aged, touch screen electronic voting systems. Next, computer scientists uncovered multiple security flaws in electronic vote machines, with the controversy culminating in an HBO film called "Hacking Democracy."
That was enough for election officials in California, Florida, Maryland, and several other states that have placed their pricey touch-screen machines in moth balls. Most have returned to a system that relies -- at least in part -- on pencils.

1. We should FULLY support the ditching of electronic voting and a return to voting on paper ballots
And as SOON as possible as well.
Ditch the E-Vote.
By the way, by chance, does anybody recall who it was, who originally promoted e-voting?

They got their second term out of them. **** 'em now, we can vote using marbles and beads for all they care.
El Stupido Supremo's suffering haemerrhoids again.

Coach, he has his head eternally up his asshole. Of course he's going to have 'roids!

We can vote any damn way they want and in the end when they lose they will claim it stolen.
They are like small children on the playground. :banghead:

I voted yesterday. It was a Diebold machine. I was surprised by the number of folks there voting early. Almost all of the folks there were clean, normally dressed, and well behaved so I have to assume that the majority of them were conservatives.
By the way, my wife also voted yesterday. It was her first time ever to cast a ballot.

Give her a H5 from me . . .

I'll do it. Obama's spin machine is one thing that got her to vote. Although she's fiscally conservative, on social issues she tends to lean to the left. Even with those social leanings the big O machine has really turned her off.

You know .... my Harley leans to the left but mostly when it is on its kickstand and not going anywhere. The only time it leans to the right is when we are zipping down some cool country road getting somewhere.
I learn a lot from my bike.

She's no where near as left leaning as she was. Our first year in business cured a lot of it. I still remember her words when the accountant handed us our tax papers after our first year in business: "We owe the government what?!?!?" :-)

:rotf: ....My "X" said that too.....and added, "How'd that happen? We didn't get shit outta the company!" :rotf:
Yep, paid a lot on equipment and the government took that as "profit" that was taxable. :rotf:

I hit post just as an instant thought crossed my mind.
You know how the liberals always clammer for required community service by the youth in the peace core, community services, military, etc..
Well, I think everyone upon turning 18, finishing high school or college should be required to be self employed for 10 years before being allowed to take a paying/salaried job in industry, government, EDUCATION, etc..
You could count the left leaning votes in this entire country on a few hands and feet after that.
-
JR, I'd go for that. H5.

Reminds me of the story Rush told on his show about the Pro football players new to the game. When they saw their first LARGE paychecks they were happy, until they saw what had been taken out................... :bawl:
