South Florida cold spell breaks records (http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/nationworld/sfl-flbrecords1030pnoct30,0,3591005.story)Although it wasn't quite as nippy as initially forecast, 10 cold records were broken across the southern third of the state on Wednesday morning.
That included three in South Florida: It was 50 degrees in West Palm Beach, breaking the record of 51 degrees for Oct. 29, set in 1944; 52 in Pompano Beach, breaking the record of 56 degrees, set in 1990, and 55 degrees in Miami Beach, beating the record of 58 degrees, set in 1943.

Gore Effect
The phenomenon that leads to unseasonably cold temperatures, driving rain, hail, or snow whenever Al Gore visits an area to discuss global warming. Hence, the Gore Effect.
