Feds arrest Mass. senator on corruption charges
By GLEN JOHNSON and DENISE LAVOIE – 39 minutes ago

BOSTON (AP) — A state senator who lost the Democratic primary last month was arrested by the FBI on Tuesday and charged with accepting $23,500 in bribes from undercover agents she believed were local businessmen.

Sen. Dianne Wilkerson was charged with attempted extortion as a public official and theft of honest services as a state senator. She faces up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines on each count.

Wilkerson, 53, lost the Democratic primary in September to Sonia Chang-Diaz despite support from Mayor Thomas Menino and Gov. Deval Patrick. She is running a write-in campaign for the Nov. 4 election, in hopes of retaining the seat she has held since 1993.

U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan said it was coincidental the complaint was filed a week before the election. Wilkerson's attorney, Max Stern, did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press for comment.

The new charges are the latest in a string of troubles to plague the lawmaker, Massachusetts' sole black state senator.

Is it too much to hope that similar charges could be in the near future for Bwarney Fwank, in reference to all of the fat little fingers he's got up the ass of the "sub-prime" shit-pile?

People, it's Mass.  The only reason she got arrested and charged is because her shit is so over the top, even for Mass, that it just couldn't be ignored anymore.

Imagine, if you can, Maxine Waters, Alcee Hastings, and William Jefferson.  Now DOUBLE the corruption factor.

That's this woman on a GOOD day.

I thought the only reason for being charged and arrested is because she broke with the Democrats choice and was running a write-in campaign.

Stevens yesterday, this guy today, is there anyone in Congress that practices lawful behavior?  Get rid of all of them and start fresh...this no term limit bullshit has got to end.

Im thrilled they finally got this bee-otch. She is the meanest, nastiest most foul-mouthed black supremacist one could ever hope to meet.  Sonia Chang-Diaz who will be taking Dianne Wilkerson's place in 2009 is Hispanic. Wilkerson went on to say something to the effect of (paraphrase) there are white Hispanics, and there are black Hispanics, and she is a white one. and then she went on to lament how her former district will no longer be represented properly because of it.

Wilkerson has mounted some sort of write-in campaign to win back the seat anyway. So much for that..   :-)

I wonder if Deval Patrick still backs Wilkerson ? Or will she get Obama'd right under the bus ?

Well, McCain tried actually sticking to his campaign finance reform principles (not that I agree with him on them) and seems to be getting completely screwed on it for his reward

In a Beacon Hill brasserie just feet from the State House, where oysters on the half shell will set most back a tank of gas, Sen. Dianne Wilkerson slithered a greased palm up her cardigan and stuffed $1,000 in bribe money into her bra, federal prosecutors allege.
