Good Morning Crusty Crew!
The wind finally died down here a tad. Pretty blustery yesterday.
I had a GREAT weekend at the Gathering Of The Nerd Nation and got a fair amount of sleep last night. I don't do that well when I am traveling.
I am used to sleeping with a cat under one arm and another across my legs and my wife's arm sprawled over me. Oddly enough that is hard to accomplish on the road, lol.
Here is what I did this weekend:

Had a blast!

I finally got back from the college trip last night about 6.
ACC...we were in Savannah with the horrendous weather on Thursday and Friday. Friday during the tour of SCAD....it was pouring. We left Savannah about 5:15pm and got into our room in Brevard NC at 12:55 am. Saw 5 accidents between Savannah and Columbia. The rain and wind were just incredible....add in the fact that it was dark....we had no idea if there were tornadoes or what going on. After Columbia...it was either rain or fog. Robyn is applying to all 3 places for sure but at this point in time she is most interested in either AI of Charleston or Brevard College. I think she would have had a different opinion if the weather had been better in Savannah and Tybee Island hadn't been deserted. As it was...she was convinced that Tybee was haunted. :uhsure: A monsoon is not conducive to visiting Savannah. Uncle Bubba's restaurant was great though. Take a trip out to Tybee for breakfast at The Breakfast Club. Their pecan waffle is decadent.... :-)
Though I worked some on vacation....am catching up and have 3 reports to get done today. Have a closing on Friday to get ready.
I have a desire to "nest" today....so am staying in...catching up on Fox News, here, and may find time to read a bit......

Yeah, that weather was pretty nasty. I was either in my apartment or at work, so I didn't get to deal with the worst parts, though I could definitely hear it. :o
As for Tybee, well, Savannah DOES have the designation of Most Haunted U.S. city according to the guys from "Ghost Hunters". :uhsure:
If y'all ever come back, try the Haunted Trolley tours...they have some great history and ghost stories.

Ahh, yes terrible Monday.
I have to reconcile the cash sales account...again. :whatever: Also it's my statement day and that takes a good 3 to 4 hours to accomplish.
I have to finish writing my paper and power point presentation for school tonight.

:censored:
It is freaking SNOWING outside.
I miss global warming. :(

We had promised Robyn to go on the Haunted Trolley tour in Savannah because we thought it would be better there than in Savannah.....however....we didn't count on gale force winds!!!!
Weatherperson is suggesting that we may have snow flurries tonight!!!! Hellooooo....I live in the south!!! Incredibly strange weather the last 5 days.....

I'm talking to my brother on the phone (I have been for an hour and half) and he is depressing me.

I want to smack him in the head and tell him to suck it up. It really pisses me off the way he is using emotional blackmail with my Mom and me. Especially with my other brother dying three months ago. It's almost as if he is using my brother as a way to stress how "serious" his depression is.
I asked him what I could do to help, he told me to buy him a house. :thatsright:

Tell him there are many pharmaceuticals out there that can help. If he's that depressed go to the damn doctor.
Sorry he's putting you and your mom through this. *hugs*

... I'm the only one with this song stuck in my head for the rest of the day then? :p

I am simmering chicken n' dumplins for dinner right now.
We usually have dinner tucked away by now but my better half is super late tonight.
-
Cripes! We got a freeze warning for tonight, and there's a big-assed football game in town. Going to be a bunch of frozen peoples sitting in that stadium tonight.
It was kinda chilly today.

Don't worry--we're getting it tomorrow night. You are not alone.

I had chicken nuggets and a baked potato for dinner tonight. Yum.
Now working on/procrastinating on my paper & power point that's due tomorrow. :(

It needs a flute counter-melody (which I just wrote).

You play flute?

Not as good as Tony Snow (RIP) but along those same lines.
Interestingly, I can sight read with trumpet (which I played my whole life) but can't improvise with it. I can improvise with flute (and later score) but can't sight read. Probably because I learned trumpet formally as a child and taught myself flute as an adult.
A great study in brain pathways, I am.
On Edit: I just watched the video: LOL -- I can hang with that but just barely. I haven't stepped on crockery that I can recall ;)
