Why do repukes call liberals "Fascists"? Fascism is a right-wing ideology.

When they call us communists, they're wrong then, too, but at least they're on the correct end of the ideological spectrum.
Do they even f*****g KNOW what Fascism is???
I wonder if you do...

3. Because Hitler was an atheist, he must therefore be a leftist
that's the reasoning I've seen, anyway
Where have you heard that, I wonder...

5. Whatever his actual beliefs, Hitler was raised in a strict Catholic household. He understood
the importance of pandering to conservative Christians. "Mein Kampf" is larded through and through with references to God, Germany and its "Christian" mission. Heinrich Himmler, the head of the SS, wanted to eradicate Christianity and institute a neo-pagan "religion" that harkened back to Germany's pre-Christian "Golden Age". Hitler told him to tone it down, or they would lose the support of right-wing German Christians.

Misunderstanding history. So tragic.

6. I'm not saying he was an atheist, that's just what the wingers think
and repeat to themselves
The problem with DS, as I see it, is the same as obama. Once confrorted, they change their position to one that is favorable to the people.
fascism:
totalitarian philosophy of government that glorifies the state and nation and assigns to the state control over every aspect of national life. The name was first used by the party started by Benito Mussolini, who ruled Italy from 1922 until the Italian defeat in World War II. However, it has also been applied to similar ideologies in other countries, e.g., to National Socialism in Germany and to the regime of Francisco Franco in Spain. The term is derived from the Latin fasces.
Fascism has found adherents in all countries. Its essentially vague and emotional nature facilitates the development of unique national varieties, whose leaders often deny indignantly that they are fascists at all. In its dictatorial methods and in its use of brutal intimidation of the opposition by the militia and the secret police, fascism does not greatly distinguish itself from other despotic and totalitarian regimes. There are particular similarities with the Communist regime in the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin. However, unlike Communism, fascism abhors the idea of a classless society and sees desirable order only in a state in which each class has its distinct place and function. Representation by classes (i.e., capital, labor, farmers, and professionals) is substituted for representation by parties, and the corporative state is a part of fascist dogma.

Mussolini started out as a hard-core Socialist thug and "Community organizer," not as a Monarchist, which would have been on the 'Right Wing' of the political spectrum in Italia. Basically the combination of a cult of personality plus more-or-less Socialist economics amounts to fascism. Stalin's USSR was truly a Fascist state though for cultural and historical usage reasons it is not called one, and we simply settle for "Stalinist."

Mussolini started out as a hard-core Socialist thug
Exactly right. Fascism was born out of socialism. Mussolini realized that socialism was largely a failure in its current form and that it needed more muscle. So he tweaked it a bit, leaving the basic tenents of Marxism (socialism, communism) in place, and fascism came into being.

NAZIsm is national socialism. So it is left, pretty clearly. The only difference is that the businesses remain privately "owned" as long as they co-operate. Their product, quota, profit margin, etc are ORDERED by the state. Refuse, thec state takes the business and throws you in a concentration camp.

I suspect much of the primitives confusion stems from the fact that Hitler was an enemy of Uncle Joe so they assume anyone opposing their beloved leftist government has to by default be right wing.
They should look at themselves and how much they bicker and fight with each other to understand that leftist hate is not confined to only the right wing.

The DUmmie is actually close to some possible truth, see: Jesuits and the help in penning "Mein Kampf".

Whatever his actual beliefs, Hitler was raised ...
That might have meant something if Hitler were the founder of fascism, but he wasn't. DUmmies never go to the source.
This is from wiki on the subject of fascism. While it is wiki, it is essentially correct.
However many Italian Fascists like Benito Mussolini were ex-socialists and ex-syndicalists, and upon the Fascists being ousted and then reinstalled in the German puppet Italian Social Republic, Mussolini and the Fascists professed to be a left-wing movement. In practice, fascism opposed communism, and liberalism but also laissez faire capitalism and conservatism and socialism. Many scholars accept fascism as a search for a Third Way among these fields............... The original founders of Fascism in Italy were made up of people who were previously socialists, syndicalists, military men and anarchists but had become angered at the international left's opposition to patriotism and decided to form a new movement.....
As stated earlier, it was a group of Marxists who knew socialism was a failure in its current form and it needed more muscle. They kept the parts of socialism they liked and tossed what they didn't. But fascism has much, much more in common with Marx than it does anything Adam Smith, John Stuart Mill, Max Weber, and David Ricardo ever had to say.
