GOP "Death List" Predicts Democratic Blowout in the House

Voter displeasure with the war and economy, coupled with Sen. Barack Obama's popularity, has the House GOP running for cover.

Even though polls have shown that Americans don't like congressional Democrats any more, a new internal GOP tally of House races suggests a Democratic route that could keep the Republicans in the minority for decades. A document provided to Washington Whispers from a House GOP official shows that they could lose a net 34 seats. That means the Democrats would have a 270-165 advantage in the 111th Congress. In the Senate, Republicans expect to lose also but to keep up to 44 seats, ensuring their ability to stage a filibuster.

Meanwhile, most republicans I talk to are still proud of their two votes for George Dumbya Bush.

Did they actually want to destroy their own party?

Meh... I suspect there will be lots of leaked memes to depress Republican turnout.

Nothing in a single election cycle really keeps a party out for "Decades" all by itself, there are always new scandals, retirements, new players, changes in national focus and major events that alter the picture, if not necessarily in a mere two years, then certainly within 4, 6, or 8.

Maybe what they mean is: with Obama in office with a filibuster-proof dem congress to bolster ACORN, rebirth the Fairness Doctrine, legalize votes for felons and illegal immigrants, allow unions open ballots, destroying wealth, regulating energy and running the Dept of Justice...

...it will be decades before a republican can campaign, vote or hold office without ending up bankrupt or in jail.

I think that, after Joe Biden is proved right (repeatedly) and the economy tanks under the combined weight of the uncertainty brought about by Bambi Obama's reactions, and the tax increases the Dems are frothing at the mouth to impose, the GOP will come partially back in 2010, retaking the Senate, if not both houses of Congress.  Then, being that the GOP still won't be able to override Bambi's vetoes, and that the Dems have to defend 24 of the 33 Senate seats up for re-election in 2012, the GOP will solidify control of the Senate, getting a fillibuster- (and veto-) proof majority for whoever is the Republican nominee in 2012 to undo most, if not all, of the damage Bambi and his minions have done in this past, and upcoming, two years.

In 2013, our reign starts--and the Dems will still have to defend more Senate seats than the GOP in 2014.
