Nevada turnout for Palin "Rally" 800.
i'm not impressed.
More than 800 people are waiting at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center to hear Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin speak at about 9:30 a.m.
Many waved signs with the words “Country First†on it, even though there were no signs of speakers. About one in three had U.S. flags and there were an eruption of flags and cheering from time to time.
Cherie Boumra, 47, of Reno arrived with her husband and 3-yar-old daughter, Anja. Boumra told Anja she was going to see Aunt Sarah.
She said she’s more of a Palin supporter than a John McCain supporter.
“McCain is good too, but I like Palin better,†Boumra said. “Poor McCain, I think he has a harder time when it comes to expressing himself.â€

Palin Stumps in Reno

RENO - Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin brought the Republican campaign to northern Nevada this morning with a rally at the Reno Sparks Convention Center.
Alaskan governor’s half hour speech was peppered with applause lines and the crowd of about 3,000 responded with cheers, jeers and chants of “U-S-A†and “Drill Baby Drill.â€
Prefacing her speech with the claim that it “is not mean-spirited to call someone out on their record, Palin took aim at the Democratic ticket.
Palin raised the name of “Joe the Plumber†repeatedly saying Barack Obama’s response to the now famous rope line question about his tax plan amounted to a plan to redistribute wealth. “This isn’t the time to experiment with socialism.â€
Noting Biden’s recent comment on the likelihood of an international crisis in the first six months of the next administration, Palin rattled off possible scenarios if Obama is elected including invasion of Pakistan, renewed fighting between Israel and the Palistinians and Russia invading Ukraine. “Thanks for warning us, Joe,†she said. “The fifth scenario is Joe Biden’s next speaking engagement.â€
Palin said she and McCain were “ready to go to Washington and shake things up. “We’re the only ones running with a record of reform.â€
Here is a portion of the speech she gave.
Two weeks from today, Americans will be asked to cast their vote for the next president of the United States. There’s no time to wait. Let’s get right to it.
Did you hear what Senator Biden said at a fundraiser on Sunday? He guaranteed that if Barack Obama is elected, we’ll face an international crisis within the first six months of their administration. He told Democrat donors to mark his words – that there were “at least four or five scenarios†that would place our country at risk in an Obama administration. Thanks for the warning, Joe!
He didn’t specify what all those four or five scenarios will be, but for clues, let’s review the Obama foreign policy agenda.
Our opponent wants to sit down with the world’s worst dictators. With no preconditions, he proposes to meet with a regime in Teheran that vows to “wipe Israel off the map.†Let’s call that crisis scenario number one.
Senator Obama has also advocated sending our U.S. military into Pakistan without the approval of the Pakistani government. Invading the sovereign territory of a troubled partner in the war against terrorism. We’ll call that scenario number two.
He opposed the surge strategy that has finally brought victory in Iraq within sight. He’s voted to cut off funding for our troops, leaving our young men and women at grave risk. He wants to pull out, leaving some 25 million Iraqis at the mercy of Iranian-supported Shiite extremists and al Qaeda in Iraq. By his own admission, this could mean our troops would have to go back to Iraq. Crisis scenario number three.
After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence – the kind of response that would only encourage Vladimir Putin to invade Ukraine next. That would be crisis scenario number four.
But I guess the looming crisis that most worries the Obama campaign right now is Joe Biden’s next speaking engagement. Let’s call that crisis scenario number five.
The real problem is that these warnings from Joe Biden are similar to his earlier assessment of Barack Obama. It wasn’t so long ago that he said Barack Obama wasn’t up to the job, and that, quote, “the presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.â€
The same Joe Biden said he would be honored to run on the ticket with John McCain because, quote, “the country would be better off.†And here we have some common ground. I want a president who spent 22 years in uniform defending our country. I want a president who isn’t afraid to use the word “victory†when he talks about the wars we are fighting. I want a president who’s ready on Day One. I want a president with the experience and the judgment and the wisdom to meet the next international crisis – or better yet to avoid it. I want John McCain as our commander-in-chief.

Well, at 9:30 in the morning, on a Tuesday morning, in Reno, I imagine most of the McCain-Palin supporters are.....at work, working for a living.
By the way, just for the record, didn't more people turn out at Humphrey events in 1968, than at Nixon events, or at McGovern events in 1972, than at Nixon events, or at Dukakis events in 1988, than at Bush events, or at Gore events in 2000, than at Bush events, or at Kerry events in 2004, than at Bush events?
If memory serves me correctly, the mainstream news media was always boasting about turnout at the Democrat events.
Well, if turnout means something, how come these guys never won the election?

800 voters is why more important then 100,000 basement dwelling moonbats that will say they were disenfranchised when they try and vote on November 14th after finally remembering something important they were supposed to do.
