Well then why don't you and the rest of the DUmpmonkeys just carry your sorry asses over to one of those "enlightened" Countries? :bird:
Actual Americans like the Untied States just as it is.

Democratic socialism has proven to be the best form of government
The evidence has been in for quite some time now. Denmark, Sweden, Japan, Canada, France, the U.K., Italy, Finland....
An economic system of free market capitalism for perfectly competitive firms, along with government regulated capitalism for monopolies and oligopolies, government ownership for essential services like health care, infrastructure, and fair wealth redistribution. All of these things have shown that democratic socialism is the most successful form of government in human history.
It is time for people to stop being afraid of socialism. If John McCain wants to call Obama a socialist, I say Obama ought to shrug his shoulders. Socialism works. The data is in.
The quality of life in other industrialized nations far surpasses the U.S. Lower crime, better education, better health care, more freedom, more human rights, lower infant mortality, and yes, stronger economies.
Unfettered capitalism doesn't work.

High unemployment, limited freedoms, no military protection, leaving elders to die in hot apartments, economy one step away from total collapse, self-aggrandizement, inability to protect oneself from crime.
The latter list is accurate. The former, an invention of the OP's drug-addled mind.

So damn funny that some on the list is growing a lil more conservative.

In my mind, limited freedoms is the only item on that list that really matters. It is self-evident to anyone possessing a brain that freedom cannot exist in a socialist system.
Any other privation, up to and including that of life itself, is an acceptable price to pay for liberty - that is a central tenet of the American political philosophy. It is wholly incompatible with socialism.
The DUmmy can take all his quality of life tickmarks (excluding the existance of more freedom, which is of course impossible, as socialism BY DEFINITION limits an individual's economic freedom) and shove them square up his ass - any creature which would trade his liberty for such niceties is sub-human at best, and is not deserving of life.

You know, I've been reading a great deal about the "death of capitalism."
It seems like everybody's talking about the end of some sort of era.
The problem with that being, people actually living at the "end" of something aren't aware they are.....and oh God, how many times has the "end" of something been discerned, and that thing ostensibly dying has lived for centuries and centuries more, or sometimes forever?
Capitalism is like sex; it's never going away.

Capitalism is like sex; it's never going away.
And sex is like pizza; when it's good it's REALLY good and when it's bad, well....it's still pretty good. :-)

If Ronnie Van Zant was alive and knew that there was some DUer who was using the Skynyrd name he'd say Gimme Back My Bullets, grab a Saturday Night Special and go Down South Jukin on this guy's head.

Looks like the USS Stupid is getting quite a workout over at DU. Someday though they will find the maximum crush depth on that ship.

Not before it runs into an undersea mountain . . .

Obviously dipshit has never been to Japan... I love that country, but you couldn't pay me to live there as the Japanese do.
Cost of living is through the roof. The AF had to pay me $800 a month extra to make sure we where able to get by. Houses are tiny, and the further south you go, the more and more you start seeing apartment buildings that make the projects seem nice. The population is in decline because they can't afford to have children, so they don't. Suicide rates are through the roof.
Yeah... so much better then what we have here in America. :whatever:

Exactly how I feel about Germany, same reasons. Great place to visit, but live there? HELL, no!

For the record, the skimpy leotards primitive doesn't know excresence about economic systems.
Denmark and Sweden are defined by our own CIA, and most economists, as "capitalist-high welfare/taxation" systems, not socialism.
Under socialism, the government owns the means of production and distribution.
All of them.
Denmark and Sweden have lots and lots and lots of private companies and corporations.....and of course exorbitantly high tax rates that make growth nearly impossible.
But it's not socialism.

Be that as it may, Coach, those nations have curtailed the economic liberty of their citizen population to a degree significant enough to rightly call the governments of those nations kleptocracies. They are governments of thieves. Those governments serve no higher purpose than the theft, by threat of violence, of wealth from those who produce it, and the distribution of that wealth to the entire gang.

There are times I wish that the US would announce to the Euro twits "okay see ya you are on your own for protection, enjoy the gulag or the madras's".
I know we will not and cannot do that for many reasons one of which is that we protect basic freedoms even when it is not appreciated.
It is who we are.
