Cloudy, rainy and coler here today. Had a GREAT weekend (Up North Dere Hey) with the family! We touristed all around Door County and went to two maritime museums and came home with a ton of goodies. Spent a tremendous amount of time in the pool playing with the mancub.
I am taking the eldest into the dentist this morning for the Great Yanking Of The Teeth. They are extracting four of her back teeth (One on each corner) to get her set for braces going on later this week. She is less than thrilled with the notion. I am less than thrilled with the price tag for the whole process.
I am sort of scrambling the rest of this week getting ready for a convention that I am leaving for on Thursday. I still have a fair bit of painting left to do but nothing particularly difficult. Just sort o' tedious.

Morning! Glad you and the family had a blast, asdf! Awesome! As for braces. I have to take my oldest for a consult :thatsright: UGH..that will have to wait until the spring when fundage comes in :hammer:
And of course it's the girl child out of all the children who has an overbite...dang child and her thumbsucking. :banghead:
Anyway, I have a fun filled day of having all the kids home while I work on costing out a proposal. I'm on a team so others are depending on me so this is going to be..oooh, so much fun :banghead: I see deficiencies we haven't addressed in our proposal and it is because we lost 2 team members so there are 2 of us trying to fine tooth comb this thing by ourselves and get the #s worked too. Sigh! I just want to get it done so even if this class botches up my perfect gpa...I don't care...I will finally be done! I don't want to prolong the inevitable with this class either since it is one i have to take!
Other than that, my house is a disaster because of the above and an other half who doesn't seem to think taking care of things involves keeping the house in check too so fun stuff...as always I will be stressed by day's end..oh well. Choose wisely who ye marries...my only advice. :lmao:

COLD here this morning, but I'm resisiting the pleas from the family to turn on the heat...I'm trying to hold out 'til November, but I'm betting even money that Mr Flame turns on the heat tomorrow morning for a bit before I get up!
First day in a week I don't HAVE to go anywhere...planning my menu and grocery list and will hit the store tomorrow. I am currently tearing apart my desk looking for the new checkbook register I know I have somewhere, but can't find. :banghead:
Orthodontist nightmares...I thing we are heading that direction, too. But it will have to wait a bit for fundage to straighten out. Our dental coverage sucks.
My brain is in turmoil right now, for various reasons. I need a day to just chill.

Flame, I was trying that with the heat too, but the house got down to 65 so I decided it was time to fire it up. :banghead: Usually I get up to workout early so I just flip it on to warm up to 68 then and flip it off after everyone leaves for work/school(for now). I'm trying to keep it MUCH lower this year. I was hoping to make it to November too since we've had neither the air nor the heat on for about 2 months now. :banghead: Which reminds me, I have to call the electric people since they have estimated the last 2 months during our lowered usage times..how convenient for them :whatever: I estimate they padded our bill by about $65 each month because of it so I'm thinking the next two months I'm going to make them do actual reads and I'll be paying little more then the taxes and fees. WOOT! :-) bastages! The do it every year at this time like this and I know they do it because they know usage is low.

Sunny and cool here.....at least by Texas standards.
As for my day.....paperwork. Mounds and mounds of paperwork.

Today should be good...the boss is off all week! :-)
Ahh, braces. I had them when I was 14 to 15. Looking back, it wasn't the worst thing ever and it's worth it in the end. I had a narrow bridge on the top and bottom and had to wear that expander retainer that breaks the bone to stretch things out. Sounds worse than it was. It was like wearing a slightly too tight retainer for a day after I turned the dial to stretch it out.

Just woke up an hour ago from enjoying my sleep (the boy is sleeping through the night finally!!! YAY!!!!!!!), and I'm taking the boy and the wife down to her mom's to dig out our Halloween stuff we got there (missing quite a few masks, and I think they're there still), then I am going to maybe vote at the local precinct if they are doing the early voting thing, and get my happy ass to work.

We got back from the dentist about 25 minutes ago. I had the serious job of not trying to laugh my ass off as my child tried to take a 600 mg Ibuprofen tablet and a vicodin with a completely anesthetized mouth. :-) She kept pouring in water and it kept running out all over the place and she was trying not to laugh and cry at the same time.
Got her settled into her bed right now and the gauze comes out in 10 or 15 minutes and we will see how she is doing. Poor kid is going to be a hurting unit when the novacain wears off. :(

I had two sets of braces... only reason for the second set was to get my teeth perfectly aligned for my jaw surgery. I constantly have to stress to other college students who want jaw surgery that they shouldn't get it just for cosmetic reasons (one person actually thought it was fantastic that I lost 10 pounds in one week after surgery. It's not fantastic, it's dangerous. :hammer: If you're as small as I am, losing that much weight can actually be harmful to your body). My oral surgeon, for example, only takes cases in which the patient has a legitimate physical reason (i.e. overbite or underbite) for the surgery. Periodically, I still wear a retainer to keep my teeth straight.
I've got a class today, then work. Tomorrow, I have to take the car in at 8 am to have the stereo fixed. :(
Sunny and chilly in Savannah today.

Crushed ice in a ziplock bag, wrapped in a tea towel. Apply to the jaw for 15 mins at a time.
I had braces for eight years. My upper teeth were moved back 11 millimeters - that's almost 1/2 inch. :o Before I got 'em I could eat corn on the cob through a picket fence. :-)

28 degrees here this morning. I hate going from swings to days because my body is still on night hours for at least a couple more days.
Satellite radio in the car crapped out this morning. Called Sirius and had them try to reset it, no good. Going to the dealer's on Friday.
I effin hate Mondays.

In IL I realized that the natural gas company (NICOR) had not read my meter in over a year....I requested that they come out..I ended up with over a $1000 credit....but of course they said it would not show up for one to two billing cycles.......****ers...
Good luck with the project for school, just reading about it, gives me a headache.

I've already snapped at an employee and a co-worker this morning. My wife lost the baby over the weekend, and I guess my emotional control isn't where I thought I had it when I came in this morning.

I'm sorry Defiant. It's no solace, but many of us here have been through this and feel for you. Make sure you keep the wife comfortable. I know her heart aches terribly as does yours.

I hate it when the weather changes. I can't friggin' breathe. Looks like I need to find something a little more powerful than Sudafed.

Claritin or Zyrtec D
I use either of these (I buy the store brand)
