my week sucked, and I didn't help it by spending most of it overly caffeinated. I am sure that a large dose
of miller lite will fix my problem, though. :-)
how are y'all, and how did your week go, and what are y'all up to tonight?
-
Very frustrating afternoon today but an okay week I guess.
Busch Light so far and am going to switch to Vodka as soon as this can is done.
-
Thank goodness this week is over.
No plans this evening other than goofing off and possibly some straightening up of the homestead.
Miller Lite
-
Week still ongoing for three more hours. Then I go home and try not to go stir crazy sans alcohol.
I might as well not even turn on the television on Sunday. Football with no beer? What's the point?
-
I hear a lot of frustration, but no detailed explanation of the frustration . . . .
I'll go first. we have this MASSIVE project going on, and the project manager that I put in charge suddenly
thinks that that talking endlessly about the defects list will solve something. talking about solutions are only
productive until a solution is arrived at. beyond that, it's a waste of time.
I put a chick in charge, so obviously that makes sense to some of us. :-)

Southern Miss plays at Rice, who kicked our ass in the first half last year before we came back, and
lost narrowly.
I get to stream that game. ah, the miracle that is the internet. :-)

Well, really more and more I deal with my boss the more and more I realize that she has pretty much no ****ing clue what she's doing. One day it's do things this way and the next it's do it that way. Oh and never ask a simple question, cause she'll go off on a tangent for 20 minutes on crap you didn't even ask about.
Oh and I, yes I finally got our past dues to 3%. 3% of approximately $500,000 worth of stuff. Yep, I did it. Guess who told the owner she did it? My boss. That's right. I worked my ass off to get this shit straight and my boss tells the owner she did it all...while I was sitting there.
I'm thankful she's going to be off all next week and that God gave us Miller Lite.

thinking that your boss is stupid is a sign of one of two things. either you really are now more qualified for her job than she is, or you are a liberal. :-)
-
Found that several hundreds of dollars worth of parts (engine oil coolers) were remanufactured incorrectly and could not be installed.
We deal with dozens of ag and industrial equipment manufacturing companies and quality control is desperatly lacking sometimes
Add to that the 60s mindset of "oh well" that has worked its way into these companies and it makes for some tense moments when dealing with the end consumer.
btw...have moved on to Vodka now. :-)

I am assuming that the machine shops that manufacture these defective parts are unionized . . . .

My good friend that's a co-worker and also a conservative thinks the boss is stupid too. :)
Really I think she just always learned "just enough" to BS her way around some people. One day it's do this and the next day she'll tell me the opposite. *shrug*
I'm just glad that she's gone all next week.

learning how to play your boss is an integral part of success. :-)

Oh yes, I never say "well yesterday you told me to...." I know how to deal with her, I just get tired of dealing with her.
Yesterday was Boss' Day did you get anything nice WE? One of the girls remembered to pick up some flowers and a card for our boss. Apparently they've forgotten Boss' Day before and she makes everyone's life a living hell for six months.

I got dick. :-)
I didn't realize it until late afternoon, and I roamed the offices yelling, "it's boss' day! where is my shit?" the best answer that I got was "my work for you every day is my gift to you". that shut me up. as I walked out of her office, I could have sworn I heard the word "dickhead". :whatever:

I did tell my boss later on "Isn't every day Boss' Day?" I can't wait for Administrative Office Worker Day. It'll be sweeeet.
-
Tired from fishing, drinking a Leinenkugel, and gonna go out with friends in a hour or so.
-
btw...have moved on to Vodka now. :-)
mmm, vodka. My beverage of choice. My city and the city I work in is dry and it means I'd have to actually drive like 20 minutes out of the way to Ft Worth to get vodka. I'm lazy, I just go with beer instead.

if we elect obama, that will be a federal holiday by september. :-)

I would think so in most cases but don`t know in this specific one.
It is an independent remanufacturer (SRC) that is contrated to be the OEM supplier so it is CNH Global that I have to deal with to resolve these things.

exxxxcellent.

I know, I know! Stupid Texas with dry cities. I can buy beer and wine in my city though. And it's really not that far to the liquor store, I just never drive over there...and I can get beer at the gas station near my house.
-
All the more reason not to move to Texas. Plus we can buy alcohol here on Sundays.
SUNDAY, people.
Even the "enlightened ones" in Mass can't do that.
Hell, we have liquor stores ON OUR INTERSTATES!!! It's like Bob Marley (comedian from Maine) said, "New Hampshire is like a frat party--you pay your toll, you get your cup, you stop at the liquor store. The toll takers there even shame you--whattya doin, wearing a seat belt? Don't be such a Sally!"

Well then beer it must be.
Would be nice to buy the fine lady one tonight. :)

Drinking Shiner 99 now. It's okay, they need to brew some more Shiner Kolsch, though.

did you catch my elegant exodus from the baseball thread, NH?
-
So a 'dry' county there, doesn't allow liquor but does allow beer?
The whole county isn't dry. I'm in the same county as Ft Worth and there are liquor stores there. It's a city by city deal I think. This city as always sold beer (as long as I can remember), but we had to have a vote on selling wine (which I voted "yes! Sell WINE!"

Yeah, but, can you keep loaded rifles and shotguns on a gun rack in your truck? You can also drink alcohol in a vehicle in Texas if you aren't the driver.

The Open Container Law changed a few years ago. No open alcohol in a car, including passengers.
-
I had a week from hell, work-related stress, I took the day off and am finally settling down to watch a friday night horror movie(The Ring), with a glass of homemade Limoncello.

you may have missed my previous posts, but I am sooooo disappointed with mccain. I will vote for him, but
only because of Sarah, who will be elected president in 2012.

I hope I don't get scared out of my wits..but the alcohol should help with that... :-)

I do like the Asian (original) versions of these movies more. Have you heard of the movie "Tale of Two Sisters"? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365376/ Freaky!

Yes and I won't do the normal girly thing of just ignoring you. I'll pester you to death...wait isn't nagging the normal girly thing? Okay, I will have to devise a new plan of action, but it won't be pretty.

I don't know what site I found that one from. I keep them stockpiled, I knew it was bound to come in handy at some point. :-)
-
did you catch my elegant exodus from the baseball thread, NH?
Elegant? Meh. Another year down the crapper at Chavez Latrine.
See? I said it better and with a lot fewer words. AND I'm still sober.

What's that? Your team is about to get flushed down the crapper because half your players are retiring and the other half are free agents?

in the last game of the series that we lost, our starters only had a salary of 2.1 million bucks. combined.

my first response was :
do it. I dare you. bounce my thread. :-)
but then I thought better of it, and obeyed the mod:
we have a very good discussion in the sports forum, NH. I will see you there.
it's funny how you have better thoughts after you think on things for a little bit, ain't it? :-)

More beer, everyone--we're not drunk (enough) yet!

It's closer than anything I've seen lately. Like Michael Bolton said in Office Space, "Shit. I'm a free man and I haven't had a conjugal visit in six months."

you are trying to be cute, and it won't work.
saying that a movie with sex hasn't changed a person is the same as trying to say a book has never changed a person. pick any book, even one that isn't the bible.
