Which African-American hero, real or fictional, is Obama most like?
(note: this post is NOT intended to be a racially-charged post in any way) :whatever:

Obvious choices from my POV are Martin Luther King, Mace Windu, and Morpheus. Are there other, perhaps better ones, or do those pretty much fit? I would liken this election to the Mace Windu/Darth Sidious fight in Revenge of the Sith, except for the fact that Sidious wins.

That's right... He does.  Muah ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!

1. He is Atticus Finch based on content of character, and not based on the color of his skin.

Since Obama is 1/2 White, I figure I could say this.

And yes, your OP is quite racist and ridiculous...IMO.
Why limit the potential greatness of Barack Obama
simply based on his skin color?

What purpose does your OP serve? Please tell me.
  :overreaction:

3. Do you really think Mace Windu is "African-American"?

6. The man who told Joel Chandler Harris all of those stories
Wise, calm, and possessed of sublety and wit. "Uncle Remus", whoever the old gentleman was, had a lot of practical wisdom to share.

15. Barack Obama is a new American archetype.
Defying all comparisons to any other American living or dead, black or white, conservative or liberal.

(except of course for Frenchicat's Atticus Finch metaphor)

Aren't we all so lucky to be alive right now?

Does the hero worship of nothing but a typical, Chicago-political conman have no end?

3. Do you really think Mace Windu is "African-American"?

I think he was trying to point out that there is no "Africa" or "America" where Mace Windu came from, so he can't exactly be African-American.  In this situation, Windu would just be "black".

Damnit...  there I go being racist again.   :whatever:

Who if he wins will be looking at re-election on Jan 21st and will sell the DUmmys out in a heartbeat.

Mace Windu is the only role where Sam Jackson doesn't get to say "mutha****er."

I always wanted him to tell Anikan: "You will not be a Master.  Take a seat, young poo buck mutha****er."

Mace Windu? There is no way Barry Ears is remotely like Master Windu. Mace Windu at least had honor and decency within him. Not so much Barry Ears.

Aside from skin color, he most resembles Field-Marshal von Paulus....the loser at Stalingrad, a brilliant staff officer with extremely little command experience, suddenly thrust into an overwhelming and fluid situation which demanded a leader and an innovative, adaptive, quick-witted all-round fighter rather than a careful and cautious deliberator.   If he wins we are as ****ing toasted as the Wehrmacht's Sixth Army was in December 1942.

Actually, Mace Windu is not "African American". He's a Korun master from the planet Haruun Kal. Far from being "disadvantaged", almost all inhabitants of Haruun Kal are force-sensitive. Not very often I get to use Star Wars geek stuff in the normal world.
