It seems to me that the Republicans could have chosen a better poster child in an effort to bolster John McCain’s come back hope. I will also make the observation that this whole thing has a WAG THE DOG feel to it.

I love how quickly they have turned on a citizen who just happened to be in the neighborhood where Obama decided to have a surprise meet-and-greet. And they claim he is a plant - The Magnificent Rove knows what Barry is going to do before he does.
The simple truth is Joe the Plumber has created a real-world talking point that they can't refute.
Nonpolitician, expresses his concern about Obama's policy to the man himself, and then Obama gives the worst possible answer imaginable. Yet this is GOP dirty tricks. Derangement at its finest (and funniest)

Aren't these the same shitheads who rung their hands and moaned about how the Dixie Chicks were being denied a right to earn a living just because people merely stopped buying their records and going to their shows in the numbers they had? How 'mean' everyone was being to them? And how much did they really have to lose as millionaires who could already retire in comfort if somehow they could not regain their career? 3 women used to having a spotlight shined up their ass being music stars....yet...
It is ok to try and destroy the life and career of a 'working man'. A man who has probably literally cleaned up shit for a living given his career and who probably still needs income in order to keep his financial life on track. To shine the spotlight of hubs2sparkley up his hiney just because he dared to make the obamasiah look foolish and out of touch.
Interesting set of standards going on over there.

I feel bad for Joe the Plumber , but if this unbridled assault continues, it will turn middle-class America off of the Barackstar faster than if he was caught with a dead girl or a live boy.
Obama is trying to make the case that he is for the middle class - while his surrogates are now openly attacking one. Can it get any more blue-collar than a plumber ? As I said earlier, this will play real well in Peoria.
Its as bad as the assault on the Palin family - the only difference is Sarah is a Governor running for Vice President. Although the attacks have been way out of line, at least a case can be made because of the position she holds, and the position she may hold. This guy is small potatoes, not even a media talking head. Wrecking Sarah's life would be bad, but she will still have a good future ahead of her, as will her family. They send Joe to the unemployment line and they could effectively ruin him and his loved ones. All for the crime of catching The One off-guard.

Daley Library in Chicago — papers that were closed off to him for some days, apparently at the behest of Obama supporters.
Obama fans jammed WGN’s phone lines and sent in hundreds of protest emails. The message was clear to anyone who would follow Rosenberg’s example. We will make trouble for you if you let anyone make the case against The One.
Other Obama supporters have threatened critics with criminal prosecution. In September, St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce warned citizens that they would bring criminal libel prosecutions against anyone who made statements against Obama that were “false.†I had been under the impression that the Alien and Sedition Acts had gone out of existence in 1801-02. Not so, apparently, in metropolitan St. Louis. Similarly, the Obama campaign called for a criminal investigation of the American Issues Project when it ran ads highlighting Obama's ties to Ayers.
