Title: Brunner: I'll obey court order, but thousands could lose their right to vote
Post by: miskie on October 15, 2008, 05:49:50 PM
How much fraud potential is there in Ohio ? 1,000 registrations ?? 2,000 ?? 5 grand ? 10 thousand ??

More like 200 THOUSAND.

COLUMBUS -- More than 200,000 Ohioans who registered to vote this year for the first time or updated their voting information since Jan. 1 could be affected by the latest court ruling requiring the state to set up a new registration verification system by Friday, Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner said.

Brunner said she would comply with the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling late Tuesday but said she is deeply concerned that the decision is a veiled attempt at disenfranchising voters.

The court's 9-6 opinion, written by Judge Jeffrey Sutton, suggested that voters whose driver's license number or Social Security number does not exactly match those found on databases maintained by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles or Social Security Administration could be required to use provisional ballots instead of conventional ones.
<snip.>

Since Jan. 1, Ohio has 666,000 newly registered or updated voters -- all of whom fall under scrutiny by this latest court ruling. Brunner said an initial review found that at least 200,000 of them might have mismatched information. Once the office identifies all of the mismatched voters, Brunner will send the list to the county boards of election where the individuals have registered.

Now That's Fraud You Can Believe In!  -- see the whole article linked above.

200 thousand?!

 :banghead:

When you consider that Bush won Ohio by some 118 thousand votes in 2004 there is enough fraud potential to slam-dunk an Obama victory. Hopefully with this admission, someone will realize its RICO time..

Edited to add more comments..

About RICO ;

What the hell else can it be ? Either --

A ) Ohio is a very stupid state, where about a 3rd of the new/changed voter registrants can't fill out a one page form properly

B ) Or there is a coordinated fraud effort, by flooding the system with so many bad registrations, to make it nearly impossible to screen them out. -- Remember - once the vote is cast and in the box, there is no recourse. This is what Brunner wnated to do - toss ALL votes that may come from these bad registrations in with the good, making it impossible to correct.

She should have nipped this bullshit in the bud. Then she wouldn't risk those who are legitimate voters now would she?

It seems to me she didn't want to. One of the driving forces behind the Obamatons is REVENGE AT ANY COST.

Ah, but see, now she can cry the poorass "disenfranchisement" card, and somehow remove legitimacy from a possible McCain win, despite the best attempts of the Dems to subvert the process.

the right to vote can be curtailed with due process, which this case has had.  this is why felons in some states lose their right to vote

Unless you run into an ACORN volunteer then they need you to work for them.

Brunner is full of shit and is in the bag for Obama.  We that live in Ohio know this, so we are well aware that she will facilitate ACORN voter fraud to the best of her ability.

IMO anyway

She frigging knew this has been going on since January! No one can tell me she didn't also know that ACORN was busing in IL residents to register for absentee ballots.

So, how may times does a person have the right to vote Ms. Brunner?

There's no doubt this election is going to be steeped in fraud from the Dems.  It's the Chicago Machine, what'd you expect?

Perhaps if you had actually done what you were supposed to in the first place, instead of trying to use legalistic delaying tactics to avoid your official and nonpartisan responsibilities in favor of reaching for a partisan outcome, that wouldn't be such a problem now...

She's a Dem, she lied when she said that she wouldn't appeal. Nothing new with that.

But of course - I just visited DU to get their reaction on the Ohio mess - no discussion about Brunner, but lots of threads about how much they hate Joe The Plumber.

I'm seeing rumors that Joe the Plumber was a McCain plant. So What? The damaging part of the whole thing is The Messiahs own words.

Of course Joe the Plumber was a McCain/Shrub plant! You don't think that a guy who supposedly works "10 to 12 hours a day" and wants to "own his own business" could be the least bit concerned about his taxes, do ya? No, no.. just a plant for McSame and Plain!!!!1111 /Dummy mode.

Absolutely impossible, the McCain campaign is not astute enough to plant anyone, anywhere.

You are so right. Sending out a plant wouldn't be a very bipartisan thing to do.

Besides it's to aggressive, too controversial for a "Maverick" like McLame.

I need a few more cases of ammo.  It's gonna be a loooong 4 years (or more) under Comrade Obama.

I really do miss my country.
