If you're doing well in this country, then you should pay your ******* share.
It really cracks me up to see people earning over $250K whining and crying about the possibility of having to pay more taxes. Boo-hoo-*******-hoo. I laugh my ass off to see rethugs suggesting that we should actually CUT taxes for corporations. Hey, if any of you rethug/freeper/troll assholes are reading this, I got two words for you - **** YOU. You want to keep all your filthy money to yourselves, you want to hoard all your earnings in your offshore bank accounts, **** OFF. You'd rather see people starve in the streets, dying in hospital waiting rooms, rather than fork over a single ******* dollar. Of course, you have no problem paying a minimal amount of taxes if you know that it's going to help the Defense Dept create new war machines, new ways to kill people; or to Fatherland Security if you know that it's going to go to new ways to suppress protesters.

2. Everyone should pay their fair share. It is patriotic to pay taxes.
Paying tax is a privilege and the taxes should be used to protect and rebuild American schools, roads, bridges, etc.
If you are doing well here, then it is your duty to pay your fair share to support the country that enables you to prosper.

7. the problem is the maze of tax code
not the rates.
People making $40k/year are paying a higher effective tax rate than people making $300k/year... even though $300k/year is a category that gets taxed more heavily.
The ones making lots of money can afford to participate in good number of tax dodges and hire accountants to make sure they pay as little as possible.
There should be a single flat tax and a single exemption that everybody gets.
(that's not what Boortz and the other flat-earthers are calling for)
If you eliminate all the loopholes the wealthy will be paying far more than they do now under "higher" tax brackets.

It would burden those making less far more than those making over $250K.
I agree the current tax code is a joke, and we really do need to simplify things. Instead of a single tax rate, it should be a series of tax rates depending on your income. I realize that's pretty much what we have now, but eliminate all these tax credits and shelters that the rich use to get out of their obligations.
This idiot actually believes that The Big Zero is going to eliminate income tax credits and loopholes. What a kook.

When their messiah preaches about hitting big oil with extra taxes not one of them is smart enough to realize that it's the consumer that will pay the tax.

Why do they insist on taxes being "progressive". Progressive taxes aren't fair and never have been. I'm all for a flat tax or even a national sales tax.

I don't get to listen to Rush much unless I'm on backshift as I am this week. Driving in today I got to hear about Obama's plan from a small business owner in Oregon (!) who stated that the 3K credit for hiring new employees was basically a joke because that credit would NEVER come close to making up for the increased taxes they'd have to pay under an Obama tax plan.
But DUmmies being what they are, they think it'll always be the OTHER guy who gets laid off, not them.

The corporation pays its employes (the CEO is an employee). It also pays business taxes. Apples and oranges. But it all gets passed on to the person paying the bill. You know, the little person -- the common man, the one that liberals claim to care about.

Free.....these are people who believe that all goods should be manufactured by union employees getting at least 40.00/hour regardless of task or education.
Then the company they work for should be taxed at nearly 100% of profit (like there would be any ::) ) and still provide them with goods and services at a very low personal cost.
There is simply no understanding the convoluted and unrealistic dreams that they cling to as they create their realities and give themselves pleasure by being enraged that it doesn`t happen.

My wife is a school teacher. ALL of her salary and a good chunk of mine go to pay taxes.
We've talked about this, and if Hussien wins, she's going to quit her job. One good math teacher off the payroll and we'll actually be making MORE money.
Isn't it so frustrating that you and your wife would have to make a decision regarding a job that she obviously spent time and money educating herself to achieve because of the philosophies of one party in this country? That sort of situation just bugs the living *&^% out of me like you would not believe.
My husband and are in a similar situation. I own my own small business which I run out of my home and have recently lost a couple of clients and normally would have a couple of other ones ready to take their place. (No, I'm not a prostitute :hyper:).
Because of the upcoming election and the possibility of democrats being totally in charge of this country, my husband and I have decided that I won't take on any more clients at this time.
Because of my small business and being self-employed, our combined tax burden is unreal and it's just not worth it.

That's 20 percent you see, IF you pay no federal tax.
Now add in the SSI/Medicare/Medicaid, state income tax, property tax, etc.
You're lucky if you don't send at least 35 percent or more to the government.

You forgot to add on the 13% "Socialist Security" tax.

Gasoline tax
Water tax
Electricity tax
Natural gas tax
Property tax
Sales tax
State income tax
Tobacco tax
Alcohol tax
and I can name more....
Not to mention all the government fees when you, say need court documents, need to buy a gun permit, or even get your driver's license renewed, etc. Tons more money there.
