SAN DIEGO -- A San Diego man who was allegedly poaching lobsters was caught with six of the creatures stuffed down his pants.
Binh Quang Chau, 33, who has been cited four times for poaching, allegedly took the lobsters from the La Jolla State Marine Conservation Area.
Department of Fish and Game warden Daryl Simmons said wardens arrested Chau when they noticed "odd bulges" in his pants.

Crustaceans and Brisses don't usually go together but...

Of all the things a guy might stuff down his pants I would have thought that lobsters would be pretty far down the list. They have BIG flippin' claws for crying out loud! :o

I suspect this guy would have been in danger from a crawdad. :-)

Worst case of crabs ever.

And here I resisted the almost overwhelming urge for endless puns....

These are Pacific Spiny Lobsters--no claws. Fun to go out and catch, though, if you have a license.

My brother and some of his friends were out of Oxnard for lobster last night. Total catch: 45
Legal size: 15
5 each is plenty. They go every other day or so during the season and mmm mmm good, he brought some tails up Sunday and we had steak and lobster, mmm mmm goooooood!

Good thing, considering 7 is the legal limit. I think I still have my lobster gauge attached to my dive light.

He is diving today, they lost 5 traps in 5 trips...

Believe it or not, I actually like the Maine ones better, and I'm not trying to sound snobbish. I think it's the colder water that gives the lobsters here a sweeter flavor. That and when the guy at the store asks you "hard or soft shell?" and you actually know what he's talking about...scary.
Oh, and when's the last time ANYONE in California tried a lobster roll? Yum. If I ever move back there, I might just go bankrupt trying to make them....

With a couple of leftover tails I had some really kick ass lobster quesadillas

Actually, I was thinking a voodoo lobster--some spiced up cornmeal, serrano chiles, roll the lobster in those and flash fry them, serve on a bed of saffron rice with some jalapeno cornbread....mmmmmmmmmmmmm

If you made them here in Cali, they'd be the most expensive ever....... (Lobster is 14.99 LB)

I heard this story on Bob and Tom last week. Apparently, this type of lobster doesn't have claws.

LOL, I see you are near Kings Canyon. Some of the best Trout fishing I've ever done.
I've actually done some caving in Church Cave and have met the owners of Crystal Cave. (both are in the Sequoia/Kings Canyon parks) I've also done mapping in Lilburn Cave!
