While I never cared for Paul Wellstone's political stances, I WILL say that he was a champion for us Veterans. Obama seems quite the opposite:

Subject: Obama MIA on Illinois VA Nursing Homes
Date: Thu, 09 Oct 2008 15:37:53 +0000
Mr. Rove,
My name is Dean Morrell. I am the commanding officer & legislative liaison for an American Legion Post in the southland suburbs of Chicago. During the summer and early fall of 2006 I contacted Sen Obama's office 3 times in the hope of getting him to contact his 'political godfather and mentor' State Sen Pres Emil Jones and his associates.
My mission was very simple. I was asking Sen Obama to use his influence and prestige to get his former associates in the Illinois State Senate to return the millions in Veterans Appropriations that they had removed from the only 4 VA nursing homes in this state.
You see at the time Illinois was home to over 1 million Veterans. Yet there were only 1200 beds available for their long term health needs. At any time almost 400 beds in the system would be empty because they were unfunded and unstaffed. At a time when Illinois ranked 49th out of 50 states in providing for it's Veterans this sad state of affairs was perpetrated by the African American Senate caucus from the city of Chicago which Sen Obama was a proud member of.
Men who survived 'The Bataan Death March' during WW11, who pushed the Red Chinese out of 'The Choisin Resrvoir' in sub-zero weather in Korea, and those who stood down over 50,000 North Vietnamese at 'The Siege of Khe Sanh' during the Tet Offensive in 1968 were forced to become a number on a waiting list with hundreds of other men of honor at times for years while Obama's associates removed their funding.
THESE WERE EXPENABLE to Sen Obama's allies in the State Senate. Each time I asked for assistance on this issue I was rebuffed with 'The senator is in the federal level now, this is is a state matter.' Funny, the initial voting to remove these Veterans appropriations began when HE was still in the State Senate and that did not stop him recently from calling upon his colleagues in the State Senate to pass ethics legislation when his reputation was called into question on the national campaign trail.
I hope I have not bored you or wasted your time. Maybe it will be of some use to you or your colleagues at Fox news. Health care, the economy, and jobs are important to our members. However so is duty, honor, and country. These last attributes and the men who stood up for them seem of little importance to Sen Obama.

Sorry this dog won't hunt. Obama is a supporter of the 21st century GI Bill. I mean hell, everythin g everyone keeps bringing up happened in the past. All his spokesmen say this.
Don't ya'll feel it's time to look forward to hope and change

He loaths the military as much as Bill does. After he was caught dodging the troops overseas it's a wonder he is getting any support from military members at all.
