I bailed out of work this afternoon because the dodgers started at 4:30 this. I almost had
to schedule an appointment with my boss to tell him that I wanted to play hooky this afternoon. :whatever:
I had a grinding week. but I trust that the dodgers and miller lite will help fix my weekend.
so, what are y'all up to tonight?
-
I'm leaving work right now. Then a couple of beers and a little teevee and I'll be in my happy place. :cheersmate:

It's David Vs. Goliath in District 12-5A Texas High School Football. The Biggests school in the district The Bryan Vikings (3-1, 1-1) come to town to face the No. 9 Copperas Cove Bulldawgs (5-0, 2-0).
Strength vs. Speed: The Vikings are big and powerful, while the Dawgs are athletic and quick. Tonight will be a question of which style of play will prevail.
Besides having a much larger talent pool to draw from, the Vikings also are significantly bigger than the Bulldawgs. Their offensive line averages 285 pounds across the board whereas the Cove front five is around 255. The big Bryan line will go up against a Bulldawg defensive front that, albeit fast, weighs an average of around 230 pounds.
But make no mistake, Bryan will not be treating the ninth-ranked team in the state like a David. The Vikings know and are concerned with just how good the undefeated Dawgs have been.
On the season, Cove has outscored its opponents 240-38, giving up less than 10 points per game and averaging 48 points a contest. Bryan, on the other hand, has outscored its opponents 134-129.
Dawg Night.

Zeus though I live in Texas I never got into high school football. But then again, my high school football team sucked. I skipped homecoming my senior year to go to a Beastie Boys concert. :-)

Between Copperas Cove & Killeen there are about 8 graduates currently playing in the NFL. Lots of Kids get football scholarships to some pretty decent schools.

47 yard field goal kick by the Dawgs ties it up 3 - 3 just starting the 2nd qtr. 5 yrs short of the school record.

Woot!
Yes, a nice beer after a long week at work. Now to find something good to watch on tv.
-
Pff... turn the tv out, and head back to the shout box with us
I'm always in the SB. I'm omnipresent.
But again, I need to find some good background noise.

I am having a smoke and a cuppa and relaxing before diving into my adventures in carpet cleaning.
The family trundled off around 5:30 tonight and I grilled a couple of lovely pork chops and had some stuffing, corn and gravy for dinner.
I have been discovering the wonders of Grenadine syrup this week.
I have discovered that it is what you use to make homemade pink lemonaid as well as home made Mountain Dew Code Red. The kids have been loving it. :)
-
Sounds like a yummy dinner. I had tacos.
-
Copperas Cove Dawgs 13 - Bryan Vikings 10. At the half.

Can you also do hardwood floors???
-
Evening all. Glad to be home. I woke up with an earache this morning and had a dull-ish headache all day so I'm glad to be home and relaxing.
Tomorrow morning I'll go for a short run if I'm feeling up to it. Grocery shopping. Racquetball with sis and the boys.
On Sunday, I'm walking in the Race for the Cure with a friend. I picked up my shirt and bib number after work. It's going to be an active weekend! Provided I don't get sick of course.
Dinner was a Razzmatazz Jamba Juice with an Immunity Booster. I wuvs me some Jamba Juice. They opened one up really close to home and work so I'm in big trouble.

Since I found out they had opened a store near me a couple of weeks ago, I've probably been there 7 or 8 times. I really am in trouble. Jamba Juice is an addiction.

It is. I'm thankful there's not one too close to me. I already have my Monster Energy drink addiction (blue can). I can't handle another addiction.
