perhaps sanity is reasserting itself in parts of ohio. brunner has been ordered to NOT turn a
blind eye to the over 230,000 new voter registrations that ACORN has manufactured. this is
a victory, but how much damage has already been done, and how much time is there to fix
this debacle?
Ohio secretary of state must verify registrations
CINCINNATI (AP) — A federal judge on Thursday ordered Ohio's top elections official to verify the identity of newly registered voters by matching them with other government documents.
U.S. District Judge George C. Smith in Columbus ruled that Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner must perform verification required by the Help America Vote Act. That includes matching new registrants' information against information in databases maintained by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles or the Social Security Administration.
The order was the result of a lawsuit the Ohio Republican Party filed against Brunner, a Democrat.
"Plaintiffs assert, and the court agrees, that it is hard to imagine a public interest more compelling than safeguarding the legitimacy of the election of the president of the United States," Smith wrote in his ruling.
Brunner also was ordered to establish a process by which Ohio's 88 county election boards can access information generated by the checks.

Yeah, I wonder as well WE.
-
There is some BS going on in Cleveland as well. They have over 30K more registrations then they have eligible voters.

Why don't we do the purple thumb on Election day like they do in Iraq? Seems like that would solve a lot of problems...well except if these people are getting mail in ballots.

yep. cuyahoga county. the county that mysteriously held out in 2004 until all of the other counties were in, but still couldn't manage to "find" enough kerry votes to tip the election. I think what we are seeing is ACORN's "solution" to that failure. this year, they WILL be able to "find" the votes.

the purple finger thing would be a pretty good idea, but I would expect al sharpton would compare it to antebellum plantation owners branding their slaves, or something outrageous like that. and OH has also thrown the doors open to same day registration for absentee ballots. even a purple finger wouldn't prevent that fraud.

Yeah, I can see Sharpton saying that, but I think it's a good idea. :)
I didn't realize they allowed same day registration for an absentee ballot. I don't like same day registration. You know in Texas you can register until almost a whole month before the deadline. You don't even have to go anywhere, you can print the application off online and mail it in with a copy of your driver's license.
I've never understood the argument that not having same day registration hurts the poor. *shrug* But then again I registered to vote when I was 18.

this has been reversed. OH has re-opened for voter fraud.
Appeals court sides with Ohio secretary of state
CINCINNATI (AP) — A federal appeals court sided with Ohio's top elections official Friday in her running battle with Republicans over how to verify the eligibility of newly registered voters.
The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals set aside a federal judge's order a day earlier that Democratic Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner institute the means to verify voter registration information and make it available to Ohio's 88 county election boards.

Of course it has - Obama depends on it

it does seem like the whole world is in the tank for they guy, doesn't it?
-
Let's think about this for a moment.
Let's speculate what I think is going to happen--Obama wins. He wins, with narrow margins in Ohio. Some reporter decides to investigate some of the votes, and finds out that McCain actually won the state--and when he goes to other swing states that were won by Obama with narrow margins, finds that McCain is the actual winner of those states--and the election. What happens then?
Is there some sort of "vigilante justice" against ACORN workers and offices?
Do the Democrats lose heavily in the next several election cycles?
Does anybody do anything about it?

I'm beginning to wonder why we're even going to the expense of having an election. The dims are hard at work manufacturing the needed votes. Apparently the courts are now blocking for them. The MSM is shining a light in every other direction while it all goes on.
Honestly, if this was made into a movie I'd say it would be a dud because it's all so unbelievable.

Add to that: Obama is poll-riding on the crest of a financial tsunami that is literally crippling the world economy.
AND HE AND HIS ACORN BUDDIES AND DEMS IN CONGRESS MANUFACTURED IT

No, no, and no, because the Dems created it and the GOP hasn't got any balls, and the average voter just doesn't give a shit.

When the dem involvement in this financial mess became more and more obvious my wife wondered if they maybe caused it on purpose to help them win the election. I'm not so sure that I'd give them the credit for thinking that far ahead.

It seems to beg the questioning of the timing. But I find it hard ot believe a ship this large could be made to change course so quickly on demand.
However...
...George Soros all but bankrupted the British pension system.
Did he or someone like him tank the securities market?

If you prefer one guy to pin this on then pick Frank Raines. He's the one that decided to break all the rules F&F operated under.

this has been reversed. OH has re-opened for voter fraud.
CINCINNATI -- A federal appeals court has ordered Ohio's top elections official to set up a system by Friday to verify new voters' eligibility.
The full 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati has upheld an earlier ruling that Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner has to use other government records to check the thousands of new voters for registration fraud. A three-judge panel of the 6th Circuit had disagreed last week, but the full court's ruling trumps the panel's decision.
Ohio Republicans sued Brunner, a Democrat.
Ohio GOP Chairman Bob Bennett calls the ruling a victory for the election's integrity.
A spokesman for Brunner could not immediately be reached for comment. Brunner previously said there was no way to set up the system with such speed.

You can. You can't. You can. You can't.
This is maddening.

Next stop: the Ohio Supreme Court. :banghead:
-
All this idiot SoS is doing is bringing more attention to Obama's little problem - and making RICO more likely for ACORN and associated parties by vocally coming down on the side of fraud.
Thank God for stupid Obamatons.
-
Glenn Beck yesterday, was saying that there are a bunch of states/counties/municipalities that are holding everything ACORN turns in to them. Some of them have found as much as 40% to damned near 50% fraudulent registrations, coming from ACORN alone.
If Obama manages to win this in a "landslide", I swear to God :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored:

I think every Acorn registration should be tossed out, barring that, every duplicate should be tossed at the very least.

Next stop: the Ohio Supreme Court. :banghead:
Haven't read the opinion, but not unless the Fed Circuit Court booted it back to them. The US Supreme Court is the next higher appeal level.
-

I wont go that far, but I do believe that every single ACORN registration must be hand verified, all names and SSNs listed to be placed in a common national database to insure that the same names don't appear over and over - If they do, then its RICO time.
-
Next stop: the Ohio Supreme Court. :banghead:
More likely the SCOTUS. This is a federal election and hence won't stop at the state Supreme Court.
