ACORN is being used to deny THOUSANDS of people the right to vote!
Rethugs are making up bullshit stories about how ACORN is engaging in widespread voter fraud. They want to accomplish two things - prevent ACORN from registering any new voters, and to disenfranchise the voters they've already registered. Already they're sifting through ACORN voter registration files to see how many they can toss out.
This is an outrage.

10. I just heard this being done in Ohio, VA and another state
I didn't quite catch. This is not good news. I hope they don't find may fraudulent ones because this could make us look really bad.

It wouldn't surprise me if there were a few over-zealous volunteers who created bogus registrations, as happens with both political parties. However, for the rethugs to use a few isolated incidents and claim that it's a systematic effort by ACORN is bogus. The rethugs are going to latch onto those few bogus registrations and use that as an excuse to attempt to deny ALL registrations done by ACORN.

It wouldn't surprise me if there were a few over-zealous volunteers who created bogus registrations, as happens with both political parties. However, for the rethugs to use a few isolated incidents and claim that it's a systematic effort by ACORN is bogus. The rethugs are going to latch onto those few bogus registrations and use that as an excuse to attempt to deny ALL registrations done by ACORN.

Secretary of State Ross Miller said the fraudulent registrations included forms for the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys football team.
"Tony Romo is not registered to vote in the state of Nevada, and anybody trying to pose as Terrell Owens won't be able to cast a ballot on Nov. 4," Miller said.

This shit of going out and dragging people in to register needs to stop. If people want to vote they can go vote. We don't need to be dragging them out from under bridges or anywhere else.

If someone desires to vote and has no way to get there I see no problem with getting them there but to promise them bottles of Thunderbird wine to climb in a van and 'vote' for your guy is total shit.

Im sure that it will be proven one way or the other. The states that seem to be affected are sifting through all new registrations. The forms are serialized, and it is recorded as to what registration operation each form was handed off to. As so far, the lions share of bogus forms have all traced back to the ones given to ACORN.

Rush is starting in a few minutes. I would expect he'll discuss ACORN but also the Rezko stuff.

Even when ACORN is found to be perpetrating vote fraud (and you know they will) the libs are going to be screaming, DISENFRANCHISMENT, from the roof tops.
How in the hell you can disenfranchise someone who doesn't exist is beyond me but you know that where they will go.

..could you imagine Obama squeaking through to a victory only to end up unable to serve because ACORN and Rezko blow-up in his face. Biden would then get the job but being such an idiot and tarnished by Obama he has a knockdown drag-out fight with the senate over a replacement VP. But because the dems are too bogged down to oppose a numerically diminished but politically resurgent GOP that has nonetheless succeeded in hanging the ACORN/Obama/Fannie Mae albatross around their gout-ridden necks.

CLEVELAND - Two Ohio voters, including Domino's pizza worker Christopher Barkley , claimed yesterday that they were hounded by the community-activist group ACORN to register to vote several times, even though they made it clear they'd already signed up.
Barkley estimated he'd registered to vote "10 to 15" times after canvassers for ACORN, whose political wing has endorsed Barack Obama, relentlessly pursued him and others.
Claims such as his have sparked election officials to probe ACORN.
"I kept getting approached by folks who asked me to register," Barkley said. "They'd ask me if I was registered. I'd say yes, and they'd ask me to do it [register] again.
"Some of them were getting paid to collect names. That was their sob story, and I bought it," he said.

(The Politico) The ACORN war rages on. Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) called today for a "full-scale" investigation into allegedly ACORN-led voter fraud in Missouri and across the nation. Up until just a few weeks ago, ACORN was an obscure community organizing group allied with Democrats and pushing for access to affordable housing. It is now one of the GOP's top targets, called out at McCain-Palin events and the subject of untold viral e-mails.
Blunt's call is for an investigation into voter-registration fraud, which is significantly different than voter fraud. Voter registration fraud generally means that people paid to register voters got lazy and faked the registration by filling in the name of, say, a Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman instead of registering an actual voter. Faking a registration is easier than registering an actual voter and the pay is the same. The people who have been fraudently registered, however, will not vote. An ACORN contractor may have made off with $30 bucks for registering Donald Duck, but it's more likely that someone on election day will vote for Donald Duck than that Mr. Duck will show up to vote himself.

I disagree with that statement. If the names are out there I think Orgs. such as ACORN will find a way to fill those blanks on the sheet. Sounds like someone is trying to take the edge off the damage.
