This deployment of troops on U.S. Streets should be taken seriously

Members of Congress were told they could face martial law if they didn't pass the bailout bill. This will not be the last time.
I interviewed Vietnam veteran, retired U.S. Air Force Colonel and patriot David Antoon for clarification... "If the President directs the First Brigade to arrest a bunch of voters, what would stop him?" "Nothing. It would end up in courts but the action would have been taken." "If the President directs the First Brigade to kill civilians, what would stop him?" "Nothing." "What would prevent him from sending the First Brigade to arrest the editor of the Washington Post?" "Nothing. He could do what he did in Iraq -- send a tank down a street in Washington and fire a shell into the Washington Post as they did into Al Jazeera, and claim they were firing at something else."

Several troops positioned in a few swing states can cause more havoc than one Gov Blackwell.
This is a dangerous precedent, don't you agree? Could it not lead to abuses down the road? Were there not safeguards put into place after the Civil War to prohibit something like this from happening? In the wake of Katrina, did Bushco--with the blessing of both liberals and conservatives--not rewrite the language of this 1878 safegaurd to expand the conditions underwhich the president can waive it? Isn't that alone bothersome to you? Was one of the chief concerns, in fact, that those changes made it easier for a president to declare martial law? When first alerters--not you or your cohorts here--made a fuss about this, were those new conditions not repealed just this year and the original language restored? Is there reason for pause: financial market meltdown, reports from the counterterroism community, presidential election?
And you and your cohorts have faith in what exactly?
Now don't go back to your lame "martial law" cop-out. I'm not suggesting that has to be of great concern at this point.
I'm stationed in a swing state! I am gonna wear my uniform on election day...just tof reek the moonbats out.

11. Hell, they already use Bush's private army, Black Water to take our guns away.
:thatsright:

A little reality disconnect there between whether any such ridiculous order could technically be issued, and whether anyone would actually follow it.

"OK, listen up. This is President Bush. Alpha Company, I want you to go out and kill some civilians."
"Roger that, over."
These retards think the world is like "THE CLONE WARS". At some moment, the entire Military of the US is going to get Order 66 and turn on the DUmp monkeys and slaughter them all.

Hell the majority of DUmpmonkey would applaud that.

I can't see any such order getting farther than one step down the chain before a "**** that!" went back up it.

Have to admit, Naomi Wolf has found a way to fleece the kooks. I doubt it was intentional, but she'll take it to the bank regardless.

The disconnect between reality and DUmpmonkiee wishes just keeps getting broader. :mental:

This is all evidence of how the DUmmies would use the military if they gained control of it.

To which the military would rightfully respond, GFY.
But that would shatter the bonds of civil-military authority and no republic survives that.

True, even when a democracy's military is pushed to the point of acting solely to preserve the democracy, it is a crossing of the Rubicon and it is very damned hard to put the djinn back in the bottle...not entirely impossible, though, just God-awful tough, lengthy, and often bloody.

This nut is a retired blue suiter that runs the Military Religious Freedom Foundtion.
Seems to be convinced we are being force fed Christianity in the military.
He also seems to be popular with the TruthOut and AlterNet crowd.

They're in camouflage. You're not supposed to see 'em.
Duh.

The military version is much more effective than this civilian version. :fuelfire:

As I recall, didn't it take damned near 10 years to "put the djinn back in the bottle" the last time we popped the cork there - 1861 to 1865 War of Northern Aggression? The last troops weren't pulled out of the south until damned near 1875 - 1880.

I'll volunteer for that duty.

Oh dear God!!!! I'm LMAO... :-)
Cheney ought to ship these "Killer Troopers" all over the US just for giggles. I'd do it. :innocent:

Well, we DO still have the Camps ready.
Don't forget the special codeword on Nov 5.

Sir, you have posted the truest part of this thread.
MSB also posts a truism, and I'm with Sparky on his sentiment. I may have been out of the green suit a while, but I'd go for that duty.
