Democrats don't have the guts to call Palin a COCK TEASER.
It's very simple. Palin is a bit like Marilyn Monroe. Even intelligent men were floored by Monroe even though they knew Monroe came off real dumb. Same with Palin. She pushes men's buttons and they WANT to believe her because they're having fun with her flirtations. Okay, really intelligent men won't be suckered by Palin but lots of dumber men will.
Meanwhile, we have seen from focus groups and anecdotal evidence that WOMEN are irritated by Palin and don't like her. One focus group reported on was actually a "dial group." A dial group is a focus group where each participant is given an electric gadget with a dial and they can turn it up or down to indicate their pleasure or displeasure with what's being said at any moment. And every time Palin went into her flirty girl routine the WOMEN turned down their dials indicating they didn't like her sex shtick and felt THREATENED by it.
The real problem, then, is not Palin's appeal to women but her appeal to MEN. That's her real base at this point.
But the one thing even dumb men don't like is the FRUSTRATION dished out by a COCK TEASER. That really pisses men off. ALL men. But the problem is that Democrats don't know how to say that in a public forum (netroots aside) and don't know how to use code language to get it across. We're too polite. We're afraid we'll be offending women. And Democrats have a major problem going negative in general. We're stuck in our positive thinking seminars.
The McCain campaign is using Palin exactly the way a VP running mate is supposed to be used. As an attack dog. But we're not allowed to undermine her as the COCK TEASER she is because THAT WOULD BE UNETHICAL.

40. You're forgetting that many progressive men have refined tastes in women.
Not so with rednecks, hicks from the sticks and plenty of "middle Americans" from the "heartland" or whatever. SOME may have the refinement to want a woman who is genuinely an intellectual conversationalist and so on. But there are plenty of dumb men out there who are looking at Palin and saying to themselves, "Dang! Aw shucks!" because she winks at them all the time.
Think also of Arnold Schwarzenegger. When he first ran for governor there were people so dumb that they were going around drunkenly calling him "the terminator!" as if they had completely forgotten it was only a movie.
Palin is suckering a lot of men. I saw a TV talking head for one of the networks yammering on about "stiffening" men's pants. And he was an educated news man. (Or allegedly educated.)
This is the problem with Palin. She has credibility because she's got some men "thinking between their legs" instead of with their heads. And now she's USING that credibility to attack Obama.

5. Right. Obama and his surrogates should go on TV and call Palin a Cock Tease.
Exactly what demographic do sexist insults and obscenities bring in? I'd really like to know because I was thinking of starting a grass roots campaign for Andrew Dice Clay.
Okay that made me LOL! :-)

8. You maybe didn't read my whole post. I used the term "code language."
Republicans are much better than Democrats in getting across anything they want by using symbols and code language and such. You can say things you're not "supposed" to be able to get away with if you use code language. But Democrats don't know how to do that. Republicans do. Why do you think the McCain campaign went around saying Obama wasn't ready? That was "code language" for saying he's "uppity." And they got away with it.
And it works too. Just this weekend they sent a BLACK waiter over to our table and when he shot me some lip I told him that he "Wasn't Ready" to be MY waiter and the "Code Language" thing worked like a charm because he had NO ****ing clue what I meant. :whatever:

57. Bread etc is right on this. Bush is still getting away with anything he wants and
no one is stopping him. Through Interior and Energy he is pushing oil drilling, uranium mining and logging in national forests for his corporate buddies. Yes, he can create an international crisis!!!

65. Thanks, Bobbieo. Let me give you an example of such a crisis already. Georgia.
The Georgia crisis was precipitated by two lies the West told Georgia's head, Saakashvilli. Western intelligence told him that if he attacked South Ossetia, Russia wouldn't retaliate. That was a bald-faced lie. Second, Cheney told Saakashvilli that the West would stand behind him or something to that effect. Lie number two. Georgia then invaded South Ossetia. Russia then kicked the crap out of Georgia. Suddenly there was a new cold war between the West and Russia. Bingo. Instant shifting of the game from domestic policy to foreign policy, where McCain could be expected to do better. Now all Bush has to do is push Russia's buttons a little more before election day and who knows what crisis will unfold. Suddenly Obama will look "inadequate" and the whole election could revolve around who is a better "commander" etc.

71. And here's another crisis: Iran.
Conventional wisdom says it would hurt the GOP if Bush started up with Iran because the public would see "Wag the Dog" in it etc. But I disagree. There are lots of ways they could start up with Iran and we wouldn't realize who the aggressor was till after the election. They could lie and say Iran attacked us. Or they could enter Iran's territorial waters in a threatening way, forcing Iran to respond militarily and then the Bush Administration could lie and say they attacked us when we were NOT in their territorial waters. And they could fake some evidence about that. If there were a conflict with Iran, instantly everybody on Capitol Hill would be falling all over each other to say they supported our troops etc. Opposition to the military action would build slowly, just as it built slowly with Iraq. Everyone would rally round the flag in the short run. Bang zoom. Instant McCain victory.
It took only days to get Congress to instantly snap to attention and pass a Wall Street bailout because it was a "crisis."
Luckily though DU turned out in droves to call this a-hole a sexist pig dog troll....

37. I'll take it a step further
I think she's either a former stripper or high-paid escort that lucked into meeting some powerful people who saw potential in her. -if you think this my own twisted little fantasy, my wife agrees with me: there is something about her that just screams stripper! She so constantly tries to make use of looks and flirtation in a way that seems to say that she has been using sex for a long time to move ahead/make money/get what she wants and she does it in ways that are so blatant and casual that she is way more comfortable than most average women would be as far as objectifying herself in this way, it's hard for me not to believe she's a former escort for the elite.
Wasn't there just something about the winking at the debate that sort of said, "Yeah, you caught me, I'm totally unqualified, but what if I take back to the green-room for an hj?"
Considering the fact that the GOP is the ultimate boys club (they like their women hot and docile -non-threatening, and frequenting expensive prostitutes is a favorite passtime of the wealthy and powerful, it would make sense that the occasional callgirl with a bit of social/verbal skills would parlay her intimate relationships with the wealthy and powerful into some wealth and power of her own?
I think women instinctively feel this: it's why they can't stand her, they can just imagine her giving their husbands a super slutty lapdance.
how much do you wanna bet she's given McCain a lapdance? haha -oh, wait, ewwwww!
-
Wow, this is beyond stupid. And coming from the same people (women included) who think being a stripper is a good thing.
-
They just keep reaching for those straws based on their own preconceived biases don't they? I have a feeling most DUmmie females loathe any woman that is successful with or among men. Her (the DUmmie female) mind will always race with ideas of the woman on her back because it is apparently totally inconceivable to them that a woman can endear herself to men by any other means because of course they are totally inconceivable with the average man whether it be in friendship or otherwise. It's the old 'there's nothing wrong with me, it's her' stealing my spotlight crap.
Palin is far from perfect, even on the issues. To see her behave as herself however what I like about her is that in her mid-40's she vibrant, spunky, happy, alive. She apparently hasn't lost the woman of vibrance she was in her youth. I think that's just petty woman jealousy we are seeing at DU since I see that kind of loathing from all sorts of women who have lost that spark or never had it to begin with.
Putting the obvious aside, again, I love watching 'enlightened' liberal women who pat the back of a teenager for 'expressing herself' via burlesque(a sexy, teasing dance) deride Palin for their wild speculations of the same in the bedrooms of powerful men. They are so hilarious...they really are. The only sad thing about it is they can poison this country with their stupidity, as is their right, but still. :hammer:

Wow. Bitter much? I bet these are the smelly, paste eating morons who scared even the high school guidance counselor with their rage and social awkwardness in high school.

:rotf: You bet correctly.

They have never matured emotionally beyond a 5 or 6 year old level.
Anything that they don`t like, agree with or doesn`t go exactly as they want it to is greeted with the need to lash out in rage.

I am reminded of poor DUmmy stevenumbers, who would grope a jellyfish if it wore a skirt.
But he is at least heterosexual, a distinct minority among "progressive men".

When I saw that I was thinking of all those progressive young men over at Saint Mary's College in Southern Maryland.
Me and a grood friend of mine were taking a continuing education, and were waiting on test results one day, so we were standing out on a balcony commenting on how messed up these kids looked. Especially the young men. In fact the only "young man" that seemed to be dressed like one turned out to be a young woman, kinda a reverse unasy rider 88.

This is seriously funny watching the DUmpmonkiees get completely twisted over Palin. :-)
-
For all the wailing and gnashing of teeth at the DUmp you would think they would need a Cinerama sized screen with all the projection going on there. If any of this were true about what they say about Sarah then so be it. At least shes never killed anyone by driving off a bridge or sat by while the entire banking and insurance industries take it in the shorts because it was better to be PC then to actually run banks like banks should be run.

Wow! Less than 1000 posts and breadandwine is vying for DUer of the year against some seasoned vets.

One wonders how she could possibly get that impression from actually reading DU. Perhaps she sticks strictly to Gay/Lesbian/Womyn posters and threads. And to think they let people this stupid actually drive and live unassisted, let alone vote. Tsk, tsk.

I suppose, DAT, that to actually like womyn who have lots of body hair, and who don't bathe, it could be called a "refined" "taste." :puke:

I agree with Saint on that one. :puke:

Body hair I could handle, even if it's not the preferred option and definitey not "Refined," but the not-bathing part is a deal-killer.

Yeah, they screech and throw fits at the mere mention of it. There are two year olds less afraid of water than that.
