Can a complete loner earn a master's degree in psychology?
Or do they screen them out to ensure that the general public doesn't get the idea that knowing academic psychology might mean knowing practically nothing about people and merely what some books say about people?

"They" run everything, Boojatta.  You are doomed to working in a convenience store for the rest of your life.  Deal with it.

It's gonna be quite hard to go into private practice and be of some help to people when you hate half the population of the United States :whatever:

Half? They hate everyone. Plus, they don't believe in private practice anyway.

He'd be ideally suited to his market.  The Folks he hates are the ones who are pretty stable emotionally in the first place.  He'd never see on in his office.  The folks who need his "services" would be able to lie back on his couch, and spend an hour bashing that Damned Bush Economy, Fundies and eeeeeeevil Conservative bastards, and be comforted - and reinforced - by the Boojatta echo chamber.  Hell, he could probably make more money - at $100 a session - than $kimmer, off of his DUmmy clientelle.  Nobody would ever get to the root of their problems, but they'd always feel "great" after a session with him.

Most shrinks hate people anyway, IMHO.

That's why they go into the profession in the first place.

Not really -- the few I went to one showed me that they had nothing to offer me, except condescension.  I can get that for free,

Unfortunately they recruit them from the human race so there you go. Present company excluded I think most people go to them expecting them to solve all of lifes problems...that's not the way it works! The answers usually come from within...just sometimes takes a third party to coax them out.

Don't know about free but I ALMOST had one.

Early in first marriage, the X and I were not hitting it off to well. I decided that if we needed counseling, we'd see the best...no preacher...no psychology major.....a full fledged shrink. Made an appointment and got there early as per my usual way. While sitting in the waiting room, I watched some of the other shrinks come in, dirty bare feet in sandals, torn jeans, tie dye shirts, beards, long hair......OH NO!... this ain't gonna work. Finally at the appointed time "my/our" shrink came in. He was clean cut, wearing a 3 piece suit and had on real shoes. My life and marriage began to improve instantly....... :rotf:

I found that a bad experience is expensive.

I think he would fare well contacting one of those diploma mills. You know the ones where you write them and say I want a degree in construction. They respond by asking if you've ever constructed anything. You reply yes, send them money, and they give you a degree.

In the DUmmie's case he/she/it can let them know that he's/she's/it's crazy, and they should be willing to give him/her/it a degree. Of course there will be the problem of money. Maybe he can get some leeching pointers from the SheMalePersonCat.

Quit early next time.  Just look into the shink's eyes -- you will see contempt and nothing else.
