I have two questions:
1. The Republicans controlled congress during 2003, controlled the House, tied in the Senate so why didn't we push those bills through?
2. Who's the band playing that cool tune at about 7:30 in the video?

1. They never made it out of committee where the minority party is heavier weighted than mere up or down.

Without a "friendly" drive by press, arousing public opinion to shut down a wrong headed Senate without it being "veto proof" , is near impossible. The (R)'s have not yet learned how to piggyback on the only "friendly" press they have, independent "Talk Radio" .  So they have FAILED  to protect the public and the economy as they should have. They just don't fight "the good fight" and "save" their "good will" for the "critical" issues.

Unfortunately, the really  critical items are frequently lost in the "ground clutter" of daily politics.
