3. You be careful with that right, young one. Many have abused it and paid dearly.
It's a responsibility, not a rite of passage, and certainly not a shortcut to adulthood, no matter what your teen-age friends may try to convince you of. Vote responsibly.

4. well considering i'm more informed than most of the adults around here
i don't plan on abusing it.

I am having trouble not agreeing with her...

Hmmm...let's see what her journal has...

There is no comparison between runner up for Miss Alaska who can't even run a town of 9,000 without leaving it $20 million in debt, and a Wellesley and Yale Graduate who was twice listed as one of the one hundred most influential lawyers in America in addtion to her political accomplishments. What bothers me the most is the assumption that feminists will praise anyone on a Presidential ticket with a vagina. It is offensive as hell.

then again, maybe she isn't more informed that everyone else on DU

Ava is as informed as any primitive on the Island.

Draw your own conclusions on whether that's good or bad.

I don't see how reaching the age to vote can be equated with earning .... anything.  I think that is a lot of the problem over there.  We put a much higher standard on the word earn.

33. You are not 'earning' anything
The right to vote is not something that is earned. It is an inalienable right confirmed upon you by your creater and protected by our Constitution.Anyone who says differently is full of it.

What you have earned, however,is the respect and admiration of me and many here for what you have done and endured in the name of democracy and freedom.

Quit tryin to get in her pants ya horny bastard :whatever: :-)

Meaning "vote for who we tell you to vote for or we won't sit next to you at lunch anymore."

I dunno.

I guess on October 24, I can then start making fun of the chin-challenged Lil Ava.

I suspect that's why Lil Ava was home-schooled while her siblings were public-schooled.

Probably some teasing involved there, but it would've been easier just to plastic-surgeryize a chin, than to go through all that hassle of home-schooling, which isn't easy.

They don't strive to earn anything. They have a feeling of entitlement that everything should be give to them.

First of all, it's Creator, second of all, I think you're an idiot, for thinking that God grants the Right to Vote.

I give little Ava one thing-she knows a lot about the typical misinformation and downright lunacy on sites such as DU, Kos.  I'm surprised she hasn't been viciously attacked by DUer's since they hate the homeschooled.  Or maybe she was.  She left once in a tizzy over something and was gone for quite a while.

Well lil darlin'....as an older feminist I'm going to tell you that you may be turning 18 but you have a lot of growing up to do. Some of us are able to admire both Hillary & Sarah for their accomplishments. At your tender age you may not have had to deal with the obstacles that Hillary & Sarah have had to deal with....especially since you were in a rather isolated world of the home schooled.

Get back to me in 10 years on that whole feminist thing....you know after you've been out in the real world for awhile.

Ava needs to be released from her cocoon and  needs to deal with the real world for awhile. What's cute at 17 isn't always so cute at 30 or 50.

Someone mentioned Hillary, Sarah and feminist.....funny.

Hillary, early in life, bought into the feminist ideaology. But to get to where she is, she hooked her little red wagon to Bill Clintons coatails, screwed Bill once, had Chelsea who was probably immediately shuffled off to be raised by the n-word maid and is the modern day feminist idol.

Sarah, on the other hand, pulled her own little red wagon, loaded it with chaps, had a husband away at work a lot, probably did most of the housework/childcare herself in the beginning and has risen higher than Hillary but is desiped by liberal women........it's just funny to me...... :rotf:

Is that really her chin? I always pictured that inverted appendage as the backside of a man hole cover, administered to her face at 0.9999999999% of light speed.

The right to vote is mentioned in there?  Where?

My daughter turned 18 last Wednesday....She is registered to vote...and at my insistence...watched both conventions...and has paid close attention to the campaigns.      She has told me McCain/Palin will be far better than Obama/Biden.

I raised her right :-)

mrs. clinton accomplished something? Oh, you must mean the ability to completely ignore her husband's philandering as long as she could garner power.  Other than that -- nothing.

Yes she has. You may not like her but she has accomplished various things in her life. A law degree for instance....as a feminist and a liberal I feel that we (women) do not all walk on the same path. I feel the same way about a woman who has reached the highest levels of her profession, to the stay-at-home mom.....accomplished.

There are many issues I absolutely do not agree with Sarah Palin on but do I respect her...damn straight. I can disagree with someone but still respect the person they have become and what it took to get there; whether it is being nominated for VP, running for president or being the stay at home Mom that everyone seems to depend on.

All due respect, but Hillary's law degree makes her....common. There are millions of women her age and older who also hold law degrees (among other things). Hillary's only real distinction is her Mrs. degree which opened all of the political doors she's walked through. Hillary Rodham or Hillary Rodham (fill in the blank) would be just another dried up shrill harpy filing lawsuits for other dried up shrill harpies. I get really sick and tired of Hillary being given more credit than her contemporaries simply because she's Mrs. Bill Clinton. She ironically owes her entire career to her husband which goes counter to all of the feminist propaganda. But Billy Bob is a rascal the Left embraces so its okay.  :whatever:
