this sounds much more reasonable than that ridiculous ABC news poll earlier today. if this is all obama is getting after
running around the county yelling "it's the great depression" for a couple of weeks, than he may need to seriously consider
changing the subject.
Financial Crisis Has Little Sway in Presidential Poll
Race Remains Tied as McCain, Obama Respond to Turmoil
WASHINGTON -- The race between Barack Obama and John McCain remains a dead heat, despite financial turmoil that has turned the nation's attention to economic issues that tend to favor the Democratic presidential candidate, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.
One reason that Sen. McCain may remain competitive: The survey shows that voters have grown even angrier about the direction of country than they were over the summer, a sentiment that the Arizona lawmaker has appealed to with a passionate populist message. For more than a week, he has eviscerated Wall Street and Washington alike for the greed, corruption and incompetence he says lie behind the financial meltdown.
At the same time, a majority of voters still believe Sen. Obama is best able to handle the economy, and many more believe he would bring real change to the country than say the same of Sen. McCain.
Overall, the race remains essentially tied, with 48% favoring Sen. Obama and his running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, and 46% favoring Sen. McCain and his vice presidential choice, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. In the last Journal poll two weeks ago, Sen. Obama had a one-point edge. The new poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. (See the full poll results.)
It was conducted Sept. 19 to 22, as news of the extraordinary $700 billion Wall Street bailout proposal broke.

That 9 point thing was laughable.
It amazes me that the media believe that we the people are so freaking stupid.
-
Honestly, I can see Obama getting a bump in the immediate aftermath of the credit fiasco. Bush is in charge when it blows up, "the gov't bailing out Wall Street fat cats" sticks to the GOP better than the Demos, and times of financial uncertainty/failure drive folks to cry "Uncle Sam, help me out!".
BUT the truth will eventually find its way out, and the people will see the fingerprints of the Democrats all over it. I sure as hell hope so... It'd be a damned shame if they don't.
-
The only problem with that is counting on the MSM to give the facts of the Demonrats involvement in the slap and tickle fiasco called Freddie and Fannie.

It took 15 years for Democrats to finally see the truth about the Clintons, even if they did trade one idol for another. I don't think we can afford another decade and a half.

And ole Chris Dodd was telling us only this summer how F&F were A-OK....
Spare me...

I blame it on Barack Obama having a strange name. Spell check doesn't see any spelling of his name as correct.
