Why Freepers are fools and should be drop-kicked from the electorate
Advertisements [?]I visit FR as often as my blood pressure can take. And while I'm sure that it will come as no surprise to anyone here that the Freepers are drinking gallons of coffee so that they can stay up late scouring the Internet for any and all ways to blame the Democrats for the recent financial collapse, this most recent theme they're on has taken the cake.
They are blaming the collapse of Wall Street on banks' extending lines of credit to -- you guessed it! -- minorities and the poor. The thread is located here and it is shameful.
According to them and I'm sure to many white conservatives, if banks had continued discriminating against minorities and the poor, we wouldn't be in the current mess that we are in. Forget the immoral and illegal predatory banking practices that targeted these groups; forget the massive bonuses paid to the executives whose motto was 'profits above all else'; and of course forget the proud Republican tradition of looking the other way while companies screw over regular folks in their never-ending quest for larger profits.
The Freepers look past all of that and come to their usual conclusion - it's the folks with melanin and without money who are causing all of the problems, not the ones who screwed them over. I freely admit that my math is mighty fuzzy and I am seriously estimating upwards, but even if 25% of the minorities in this country took loans worth $100,000 and were unable to pay them back at 10% interest, that would still come out to $8 billion dollars a year for the last 25 years, when the "relaxed" laws took effect. $8 billion over 25 years comes out to $320 million dollars a year... roughly what the top 10% of executives at ONE of these banks brings home in a damn year.
I am so damn sick of the racial scape-goating I could throw up. To these fools, there is no problem in this country that can't be blamed on blacks, Arabs and/or Hispanics. I've never been a Republican and never wanted to be, but I am starting to get to the point where I want them wiped off the face of this earth. (If my math is off, which I fully expect for it to be on at least some level, please be gentle in your explanation!!) Thanks for reading.

Man, I'm glad I'm not a Freeper. Imagine thinking that loaning money to people with no money could possibly cause problems. :o

5. Buchanan is saying now on Rachel that the crisis is "liberalism run amok"
because of the loans to minorities who couldn't pay them back and had no money down...it's liberalism! No conservative would EVER really loan money to minorities unless evil liberals FORCED them to do it!!
Holy f*@%in' sh*t.
:o Granny!!!! :o :o

Things will be better when the messia-uh gets his program set up and establishes loans to people with no money that they NEVER have to pay back.
You know, like his cronies at Freddie Mac and in the Chicago political machine.

DUmmies really are dumb asses aren't they.
"According to them and I'm sure to many white conservatives, if banks had continued discriminating against minorities and the poor, we wouldn't be in the current mess that we are in"
They weren't "discriminating" against minorities and the poor. They were using common sense. You see, if you lend money to someone in hopes of getting it back, your chances increases greatly if the borrower has the actual means to pay it back. That's simple common sense. But your team, the DemonRatics of the DemonRat Party, doesn't like the use of common sense. They fought and argued and eventually won. Yes. Your team won. By happy.
Isn't it amazing how almost every time your team wins America loses?

Hey DUmmies, you don't have to look any farther than good old Billy-Boy and the Dims to see who started this mess.

What can any sane person say about that racist rant?
It's the ability to pay a loan back that was forced out of the equation by the Carter and Clinton administrations that made 90% of this financial mess. When any additional oversight of Freddie Mae or Freddie Mac were suggested by Bush the democrats screamed...wait...you will never guess.... RACISM. Just two years ago the fat fag on the banking committee said there was absolutely no problem with either outfit. Then the waitress sandwich maker told us everything was great... right after he got a great home loan and received more lobby money than any senator. No there are no democrat finger prints on this mess and it was all done on the racist views of liberals.
I'm getting really tired of any common sense being called racism and think the rest of the country is too.

Actually it goes way back to Jimmy The Peanut. The never ending supply of malaise and useless ballsack of a foreign policy hack.

There's a reason that on page 4 of a Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac application that the applicant is asked to identify their gender and their race. And if the applicant refuses to do so, Fannie/Freddie requires the loan officer to "make their best guess." In fact, this is the exact wording:
INFORMATION FOR GOVERNMENT MONITORING PURPOSES
The following information is requested by the Federal Government for certain types of loans related to a dwelling in order to monitor the lender's compliance with equal credit opportunity, fair housing and home mortgage disclosure laws. You are not required to furnish this information, but are encouraged to do so. The law provides that a lender may not discriminate either on the basis of this information, or on whether you choose to furnish it. If you furnish the information, please provide both ethnicity and race. For race, you may check more than one designation. If you do not furnish ethnicity, race, or sex, under Federal regulations, this lender is required to note the information on the basis of visual observation and surname if you have made this application in person. If you do not wish to furnish this information, please check the box below. (Lender must review the above material to assure that the disclosures satisfy all requirements to which the lender is subject under applicable state law for the particular type of loan applied for.)
On the surface, you might think fine and dandy, they want to make sure people and/or areas aren't being red-lined. Problem is, as with most bureaucratic messes, it became quota driven. I mentioned to you before that if a mortgage lender in my area had a minority applicant that was ineligible for a loan, it could become a scary deal. You could be completely in the right and treating them like you did every other applicant (I'm in business to make money. Why would I purposely turn anyone away who was eligible regardless of their race, ethnicity, or sex? Their money is as green as anyone else's.), but all it would take is just one minority applicant who was turned down making a stink about it, and suddenly the publicity has your company labeled as discriminatory in the community. Even if you went to court and it got thrown out or if you won, the PR you suffered could be a death blow.
So yeah, this whole thing became a ticking time-bomb. By no means was this the whole problem, but it was just one more brick of the whole wall that eventually fell down.
