Another report on Galveston........from Burnt Orange...1500 or more bodies
Advertisements [?]From Burnt Orange Report:
Okay...I've got some news on this front. Take it for what it's worth, but the guy I got it from is someone I trust to raise my children... He's never once lied to me...ever. And we're close.
He's in a pretty high-up supervisory position for a refinery down on the coast.
His refinery has some equipment and lines in and around Galveston county, and before they were to bring them back on line he and his crew had to inspect the place for damage and potential hazards. So they were given permission....after a background check....to helicopter in and inspect, which meant coming in over Galveston.
I kid you not when I say that he told me they saw AT LEAST 1500 bodies in trees scattered about Galveston. They also saw a lot in various ditches and marshes, esp. on the north side of East Galv. Bay, east side of Trinity Bay, and in the marshes between I-45 and Seabrook/Clear Lake/Deer Park.
It explains why they're not letting the media anywhere close to the Island except in limited sectors nd we're not hearing anything from or about the people who survived and those who stayed behind. It's like 20,000 people never
existed....where are they? Where'd they go? What are their names? Nothing....
Same thing in Orange county.
Take it for what it's worth....I believe him, though his count may be wrong given the shock of the sight. But like I said, I'd trust him to raise my kids.
I'd be more surprised if he were wrong than if he were right.

"I'd trust him to raise my kids" from a woman who penpals convicted murders and rapists. :whatever:

12. Some ghoul was repeatedly posting this on the Bolivar Forums
on khou - I saw it at least 4 times under different topics. I can tell you, the reaction from evacuees and survivors alike, was extreme anger.
This particular piece of filthy garbage has been debunked repeatedly - as was your 900 floating bodies.
The list of missing, compiled by those that live there, numbers around a hundred, of which 20+ are now accounted for. Is this list comprehensive? No, I doubt it. But neither are there 1500 dangling or 900 floating corpses.
For those that want to know what is REALLY happening/happened @ Bolivar/Gilchrist/Crystal Beach, may I suggest reading that which is written by those that were there or are in contact with those that are there.

They have flown all over Galveston and Bolivar Peninsula. I have watched it live. They have dispatched all kinds of reporters including Wayne Dolcefino (local investigative reporter) who has flown in and walked all over Bolivar Peninsula ..... there is not 1,500 bodies and I defy this ignorant person to prove me wrong.

no, not really
But that's ok
As to urban legends of course.. you always see that... but we have people STILL MISSING from Katrina
chew on that
Go look in the jails in Dallas/Fort Worth, I'm pretty sure you will find your "Missing".

BODIES IN GALVESTON! READ THIS!
Advertisements [?]For God's sake everyone, there are NOT thousands of bodies in trees and ditches, being hidden from the press, in Galveston or South Texas.
I KNOW BECAUSE I AM HERE AND WAS IN GALVESTON WITH A CAMCORDER ON MONDAY!
I live in Galveston, and right now my island, my city, my home needs your help. BUT RUMORS ARE NOT HELP. THEY ARE A DISTRACTION.
Please, no more threads about how some blogger or radio host or whoever knows someone that knows somebody that said there are bodies everywhere. There aren't and I can prove it with video.
A better use of everyones' time would be to get out there and donate or volunteer with the Red Cross. Or the Obama campaign, so that we can have real leaders in office when there is a disaster.
I am coming here to get news about the world because there is nowhere else for me get it all in one place right now, and this 'body count' nonsense is killing me.
Please, no more conspiracies. Remember, peddling fear, rumor, and suspicion is what they have done for the past 8 years. Let's not fall into that trap.
Jeffy
Melalookatme is NOT making friends over there.

19. You know the fact that we have people still MISSING from Katrina
gives these rumors some validity
Seen how this is done in the flesh
Now 1500 perhaps not... but when all is said and done get used to this nice phrase
Missing, presumed dead
Or just plain out missing
Reality is in ANY disaster of this scope people do go missing
Now if recognizing THAT reality is irresponsible... so be it.
Guilty as charged
TomInTib better watch his act...

22. Jannyk, I'm posting what I find. That's all.
I, personally, am missing two people from San Leon, TX. San Leon, a very small community in Galveston County, has reported 16 dead already.
If we can't get news from the news media, we will try to find out for ourselves. You can ride your high horse and condemn us all you want, but realize where we are coming from.
Translation: I am such a psycho tard that I wont believe anything that does not conform to my craziness in the news and will make shit up if I don't see what I want to believe.

23. I don't believe it, either. But I wish someone would tell us something.
It shocked me, today, to find out that 16 were dead in the little town of San Leon. And I had to get that from the newspaper's website.
I am going to try to go down there; see if they'll let me in, to find my friends. I've already called the hotline, but I haven't heard from anyone.
I hope she gets her ass clinked. Depending on who hooks her up she could be looking at Federal charges rather than State if she gets too mentado.

Tomorrow, Th1onein will be making claims that tens of thousands of bodies are hanging in the trees.

Surprisingly from someone supposedly from the Galveston area, she wants there to be 1500 dead bodies.

28. Ok I wanted to keep this private but this is way too important
so here a perspective of somebody who's been there, done that, as a disaster worker
They may very well be hiding something, but let's step away from that point for a minute
When disasters happen, especially this big, people at times are forced to move. They are forced to move FAST... and nobody really records where they went, or how. I know keeping track of people we moved during disasters was never easy... in fact it was one of the hardest things to do .
Now I don't discount that some folks are dead and missing and some will be found in the weeks, even years to come... but the folks passing you the information are doing the classic thing.... I see 20 bodies at a disaster area, and I am trained, I once made the mistake of adding a zero... ooops It was easy, it was stress... thankfully did not send that over the air (that pesky training) and took two more minutes to eval my scene. So we got the personnel to handle twenty casualties, not 200... or my boss would have had my behind for lunch and dinner, rightfully so.
So what I am saying is that your friends may be combining reports (again another easy one to do, especially in the early phase of any disaster) or seeing more than they are seeing.
That said.... this guv'ment has a reason to hide a lot of the response and the little we have heard is ... worrisome, such as rice at distribution centers
You are not wrong... just that when all is said and done some folks will be missing... presumably dead... but if my experience is working... not as bad as 1500, not even 900... why I reminded Sfexpat above that we are still missing some folks from Katrina (and I don't buy the numbers for other reasons from that one)
If they are at those numbers and are trying to really hide something.... then my tin foil hat is turning towards the L-4 biolab... and something really pesky escaping. And we should all hope this is not it.
:mental:

43. I'm sorry if you don't like crticism, but I am from the area and have family there
And you've posted utterly unsubstantiated reports twice now of 900 and 1500 deaths, respectively,
including a ghoulish and unnecessary visual of the bodies "in the trees."
A DUer with boots on the ground has attempted to inform you, but you are not impressed
with an eyewitness report.
I'm not about to apologize for being critical of the cynical way you post outlandish stories that
you cannot prove. And my comments to you were not personal - I don't even know you.
The forum to which your post was moved is all the evidence one needs as to the veracity of your claims.

As is most of my family and many of my friends.
You should not post personal insults. Period. It is not a matter of criticism.
I have posted, on this particular thread, that I don't necessarily believe the report from Burnt Orange. Yet, you see fit to personally berate me.
I am not a DUer who will say "so long" in a long post to the forum, just because some on here can't obey the rules and start personal attacks. Instead, I will alert the mods, when you or anyone else starts that kind of crap.
And, I don't think that the fact that the post was moved has anything to do with anything.

Yes, it will, because they think they NEED it to show how cruel and inept Republicans are. Deep in their dark little hearts, they are praying for 1500 dead people in Texas.
The poster who would have the biggest problem with these reports should be bobbolink. hehe There are a BUNCH of homeless folks right now and bobbolink is no longer special.

http://sanleontexas.com /
Could you please link where it tells about 16 dead from your town? I've been wondering where all the deaths occurred in Texas, since they only list totals for each state, not locations.
According to this website, they are welcoming people who are able-bodied to come on back.

41. I read it. But there's a problem with his report.
He's not talking about Bolivar Peninsula or Crystal Beach. He's just talking about Galveston.
Nevertheless, they are reporting on Yahoo! this morning that they are letting back in 45,000 people to the island. That should put these rumors to rest, and rest some people's worry. (Like mine.)
You guys are right--I don't think they're going to find 1500 bodies or 900 bodies, in trees or elsewhere. I DO think that there are still a lot out there, buried under the rubble, or washed out to sea, and that we'll be hearing about them in the next few weeks and months, as the clean up continues. But not the mass death that my friend reported to me, or that this Burnt Orange poster claims.
