How's your sleep these days?
Advertisements [?]Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 02:30 PM by RiverStone
I'll admit that when I sleep, it is sound - but my thing is I don't want to sleep! As we edge ever closer to the day Obama could change the course of this country forever, the political buzz gets harder and harder to turn off.
Even getting my quota of intense exercise after work does not slow things down. What the heck am I doing up at 2:00 a.m. surfing the web for tomorrow's political headlines?! What tidbit or fact can I find to help our candidate - or argue a crazy rethug talking point? And I'm up by 6:30 to get to work on time anyway... :mental:
Oh well, I'll trade some shut eye for an Obama win any day. And I'm anticipating 45 more restless nights till the BIG celebration!
Somebody send me a copy of his first post after Obama concedes it please.

3. Funny you should mention...
I was just telling my assistant yesterday that I haven't been sleeping well at all... four hours a night tops.
I attribute this to having worked for AIG SunAmerica for so long... I have heard rumors that many of my favorite people from there are losing their jobs... over something that isn't their fault. Add to that the fact that my mortgage is held by WaMu... I know in my head it's ok, but, well, you know how the panic can be contagious. I've no equity left in my home because of the downturn in the market, and I have virtually zero in my IRA and 401k. I've stopped contributing to the sucking hole that is my investment portfolio.
I've been carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders... I'm far too empathetic for my own good... I have what is called a "Promethean" personality type.
If something doesn't give, I'm going to beg my doctor for sleeping pills... something I'm dead set against.

7. Not sleeping much at all.
Talk about feeling like the weight of the world is on your shoulders.......But because of sites like this and others, I realized that there are a bunch of us out there fighting the fight and it feels so good.
And by "Fighting The Fight" you of course mean a bunch of Morons posting OpEd and Blog entries to each other and then having a mass hoot about how they prove what you've been saying all along!!!!1111 :whatever:

5. I actually dream about this mess.
I wake up at night having dreamed of ways to make our Obama campaigning work better in Ohio. It is exhausting. peace, Kim

9. I had a dream last night that Obama won
The last couple weeks have been tense and I expect each of the coming weeks to be tenser still. There is nothing I want more than Obama victory. I want to see a new generation of leadership, new ideas, and a man who actually thinks with his mind (and a very impressive mind it is). I want the sweet feeling of political revenge coupled with the hope of a new beginning.
I know that there are so many obstacles. The Republican machine of fear and lies. The underlying racism that will rob votes from our candidate. I hope with all my heart that the forces of goodness for once triumph over the darker forces that have ruled our country.
I am was too obsessed with the day-to-day, hour-by-hour developments of this campaign. I do get plenty of exercise and sleep somewhat decently but the situation has pretty much permeated my very being.

10. I lay in bed at night with my laptop and wait until my eye lids start drooping...
before I even attempt sleep...if I don't, I just lay there thinking about potential responses to republican arguments...basically, rehearsing for debates with Republican acquaintances. It's exhausting! I am so addicted to this election...can't stop thinking about it!
Dear GAWD what a pack of :loser:.

I can't even begin to relate to this. Any conversation I would have with libs would be short, to the point, and within seconds I could automatically figure out if they had the capacity to see beyond the cocoon they live in or they didn't.
And why is it the most intelligent people on earth have to pre-plan their responses to those with whom they disagree?

If anyone needed proof that these are very simple minded people..this is it.

Not sleeping much at all.
So, what do all these DUmmies have in common?? One word:
Methamphetamine

The only time I get up at 2:00 am is if I drank alot of beer during the evening.
Sometimes, not that it is all of their own making, I do actually pity these poor f*cks.

You have an assistant? In this horrible Bush economy?

I don't see what the big deal is. I'm up every night at 2am...7 days a week. Of course, I get off work at 4am so its just par for the course.
-
I have to say you know what I love reading at DU "Did you send this to the Obama campaign??"
Like any campaign Obama or McCain doesn't know what the current "rumors" are on the internet. :whatever:

Actually, that's very telling in a Freudian way.
Democrats still have that old slaveholding mentality; it's always "my" assistant or "my" secretary or "my" staff, as if these people are chattels.
It's very telling.
As incredible as it might sound--and yes, it probably sounds incredible--I've never heard anyone considered old-fashioned or a traditionalist or a conservative or a Republican use this "my" stuff. It's always been "Bob" or "Mrs. Jones" or "the people I work with."

It is how they attempt to be "casually more important than you" and is, of course, a lie.
I use the term "my colleagues" universally.

You have to consider the definition of "assistant".
After DUmmy juniperx dumps the fries out of the cooker, his assistant sprinkles them with salt.
