I have a new way of dealing with the MAGATs:
When they start in on their bullshit, I let them finish a sentence and then say:
“Did you know that Jesus drove a Honda but he didn’t like to talk about it?”
They generally just stare at you at which time I continue: “In the Book of John Chapter 12 Verse 49 Jesus said, ‘For I do not speak of my own Accord.”
They just stand there dumbfounded. I don’t even crack a smile. Works every time.

Well, yeah. If you abruptly change the subject from politics to a pun about Jesus, then you shouldn't be surprised to get a confused look from the other person.
