Is this the "big story"?
Donald Trump and his US Attorney Pirro, along with Todd Burgum of DOI, were willing to lie rather than accept any responsibility for the damage done to the Reflection Pool at the Lincoln Memorial. In the process, they were willing to send an innocent man to prison for up to ten years.
The most powerful people in this nation colluded with right-wing media to frame an American citizen for a crime he did not commit. They told the lie over and over.
How big of a story is this? If they can do it to this person, in the manner that it happened, then it could happen to any citizen.
This story should wake up every American.

The way I read the pool thing is that Pirro looked at the details of the case and decided to drop the charges. Why aren't the DUmmies patting her on the back?

It's more than just ordinary complaining, though. It's like a need to portray themselves and their ilk as the heroes in their own story. I believe it's sometimes referred to as "main character syndrome".
