Homeless Declare Victory In Gavin Newsom’s Fight Against Homelessness

SAN FRANCISCO — The homeless of California have achieved a final and decisive victory in Governor Gavin Newsom's fight against homelessness.

Despite Newsom spending $24 billion on the seven-year war effort, the homeless have steadily conquered more territory, expanding their strongholds in every major city.

"Veni, vidi, vici. The state is ours," said homeless encampment leader Darren "Two-Tents" Willis. "Already, we have attained our most important objectives in this fight: free drugs, free needles, and unfettered sidewalk access for public defecation. We continue to strengthen our strategic position every day."

Admitting defeat, Newsom reportedly met with homeless representatives in a dilapidated tent under a bridge overpass just south of San Francisco. "We tried everything to vanquish them," sighed Newsom. "We gave them money, cocaine, and a free pass to commit whatever crimes they pleased. Somehow, it just wasn't enough."

Housing cost and availability - largely gooberment caused, BTW - causes very little "homelessness. By ignoring the causes of most "homelessness" - chemicals, mental illness, and choosing not to fit socially - that $24B (or whatever it was) was mostly wasted. You can't fix something by ignoring its causes.

A high school senior in Philadelphia made a video series asking fellow seniors to read a simple sentence written in english and they're incapable of completing the simple task.

... this one went viral for obvious reasons and now the school is saying he may not be allowed to graduate from the charter school
due to the videos.

The school seems completely fine with students not being able to read but they're not okay with the public seeing that they can't read.

Charter schools are still overseen by the gooberment, so I wonder if his school's principal is being moronic or if it's the district educrats ... or both.

NEW YORK (AP) — Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is breathing on his own after being hospitalized with pneumonia and placed on a ventilator, his spokesperson said Monday.

Giuliani, 81, remains in critical but stable condition at a Florida hospital and is being monitored as a precautionary measure, spokesperson Ted Goodman said.

Goodman said Giuliani’s condition was exacerbated by restrictive airway disease attributed to his exposure to dust and toxins from the Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center.

Giuliani’s hospitalization, near Palm Beach, Florida, came after he was heard coughing Friday on his nightly online talk show and hoarsely told viewers that his voice was “a little under the weather.”

“This condition adds complications to any respiratory illness, and the virus quickly overwhelmed his body, requiring mechanical ventilation to maintain adequate oxygen and stabilize his condition,” Goodman said in a statement.

He described Giuliani as “the ultimate fighter” and said, “he is winning this battle.”

I'll give them "gauche", that one doesn't follow any grammar rules, but silhouette and extraordinary?  Plus no clue how to use the context to figure out what's being said? And the instant "I don't know/can't do that" is absolutely how they got through school, cause we don't have time to argue/fight/force them to learn, then they get passed along so the school's numbers don't look bad and impact funding.

The U.S. Secret Service has confirmed that an officer was involved in a Monday shooting in Washington, D.C. but has yet to release details on any of the people involved.

... Fortunately, it seems that no officers suffered injuries.

The official X post announcement was very brief, stating merely, “U.S. Secret Service personnel are on the scene of an officer-involved shooting at 15th Street and Independence Avenue in Washington, D.C. One individual was shot by law enforcement; their condition is currently unknown. Please avoid the area as emergency crews are responding.”
...
The suspect is reportedly at George Washington Hospital.

Not much info at this point. Any DU crazies AWOL?

This happened about an hour ago and there still isn't too much information at this moment. According to the Secret Service, a man with a gun was shot nearly 15th street and Independence Ave. That's on the other side of the Washington Monument from the White House. Google maps says it's a 1.1 mile walk.
...
Fox News has the only additional details I've seen so far.

Quote
Secret Service Uniformed Division officers engaged the individual after the person pulled a gun, a federal source told Fox News Digital.

Okay, we finally have a press conference and there is some new information.

* Secret Service were patrolling the outer perimeter around the White House when they spotted a man with a gun. They call this a "print" visible sign of a gun.

* Marked cars were called in and when the man was confronted he pulled the gun and fired.

* One bystander, a juvenile, was hit but the injuries are not life-threatening.

* Secret Service shot the man and he is in the hospital, condition unknown.

* VP Vance's motorcade had passed along the street where the armed man was walking not long before the shooting.

* Asked if the man said anything, Matt Quinn refused to say until he had confirmation. So maybe he did say something.
