I love these threads over there.  They claim over and over that Trump's tax breaks were/are only for the 1% or the "wealthy."

Ugh . . . I feel dirty.

Just did my daughter's taxes . . . she gets a little over $500 more back because of the no-tax-on-overtime. Then I went to price check a medication I needed to order. Costco wasn't better than Part D, so I ran over to GoodRx. It suggested that the brand name medication might be cheaper. It was (about half price of the generic) . . . and it was branded TrumpRx. Yuck.

And I know when I finish my taxes tomorrow (well, now today) that we'll get a similar benefit from the old geezer's additional deduction.

That bastard saved me and my daughter money!!!  How DARE he!!

When we got the deduction on my SS.
I retired last October and we usually owe about 2k because of my earnings and SS. This year we got a refund around 1,800.

A $3,800 dollar swing in one year ain't chicken scratch.

And you can use some for a good cause. Certainly more effective than anything this fascist regime would spend it on.

Just kidding. But, seriously, I have been telling folks for a while now that we Democrats missed several opportunities over the last couple of decades to fix the tax code on behalf of American taxpayers. Then, Trump came along and (1) doubled the standard tax deduction, (2) created a senior tax deduction, (3) made up to $25,000 in tips tax deductible and (4) provided some degree of tax deduction for overtime pay. As Joe Biden would say, these are "big ****ing deals." So, why wasn't it us who did these things? Focus on helping the average American taxpayer keep more money in their pocketbook and you'll always have their attention.

Because your party hates Americans and cares more about illegal immigrants and criminals.  :thatsright: :loser:

I don't remember your party doing much of anything for "the average American taxpayer".

Illegals, trannys, pedos, criminals, yes. Average? Not off hand.

Then, Trump came along and

fixed it for the middle and lower class taxpayers.

As someone who voted for Trump, I say to the DUmmies, "YOU'RE WELCOME!"

JBTaurus83, Thank you for showing how stupid and/or brainwashed you are. Some may have not believed it. You pull "fascist" from your approved list of Trump descriptions. Now that you've done that, go look up "Fascist". You'll first notice how much closer to that definition your Obama, and Biden are.
You don't even know what you're talking about. But, you make sure to throw that negative in your comment. The extra money you "feel dirty" for taking (but you took it) is largely available due to the absurd waste Trump has, and is stopping. Now, get your damn ant-ICE protest sign and join your brain-dead pals on the street. Make sure you use the one with "Fascist" in big red letters.

I’d say part of the reason is because PeaceWave deleted the 2 posts he/she made.

I’m sure pressure was applied to remove both of them, but we’ve captured one for posterity.

Likely true. but damn! If I'm missing information that is true, I want it no matter how bad. If it's specific and verifiable, I'll check and adjust, if needed. Otherwise, I'd be making decisions under the fog of ignorance. it looks like they depend on ignorance over there.

It’s One Big Beautiful refund.

Americans are rolling in the dough this tax season thanks to a bevy of new reforms passed by the Trump administration that have boosted returns by double digits.

More than 53 million taxpayers cashed in after taking advantage of new deductions included in President Trump’s signature “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” including tax-free tips and overtime, cheaper car loan interest and senior write-offs.

The tax breaks translated to a surge in refunds — as filers in 2026 took home, on average, $3,462, or 11.1% more than last year, IRS data shows.

...

Some of the biggest winners this year were service industry workers who reaped the benefits of Trump’s highly lauded “no tax on tips” policy.

“I was very happy because I didn’t think I was getting any money back,” Ingrid Mejia, a 53-year-old waitress at the Embassy Diner in Bethpage told The Post.

Mejia said she got about $4,000 from her refund, which is typically just $1,000.

They're hating that Americans are benefitting and that is sad.  They could have done the same thing, as pointed out by PeaceWave, but they didn't and if I was a democrat I would have to question why.

How freaking pathetic is it that admitting to have been benefited by a Trump policy/action makes Ms. Toad "feel dirty". Had LIEden or OhBummer! actually done something good, I would not have hesitated to acknowledge - "acknowledge", not simply "admit" - it.
