WASHINGTON (AP) — Steve Bannon, a longtime ally of President Donald Trump, on Monday won a Supreme Court order that is expected to lead to the dismissal of his criminal conviction for refusing to testify to Congress.
Prodded by the Trump administration, the justices threw out an appellate ruling upholding Bannon’s conviction for defying a subpoena from the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, attack by a mob of Trump supporters on the U.S. Capitol.
The move frees a trial judge to act on the Republican administration’s pending request to dismiss Bannon’s conviction and indictment “in the interests of justice.”
While AP calls dismissing the conviction and indictment symbolic, since Bannon served a 4 month prison/jail term, in reality it would clear his criminal record and open a door for civil lawsuit compensation for wrongful incarceration and malicious prosecution.

A federal judge has denied a motion by former Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan to overturn a jury's guilty verdict against her.
U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman on April 6 issued a 39-page order, denying an appeal by Dugan's legal team and also rejecting the claim that she is immune from such prosecution.
"As I noted in denying the motion to dismiss, there was no basis for granting immunity simply because the indictment described conduct that could be considered 'part of a judge’s job,' Adelman wrote.
The closely watched case is headed for the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, based on a statement from Dugan's legal team:

Remember, without CBP, there can be no customs clearance. Without customs clearance, you can’t accept international arrivals.
The math isn't complicated. If Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, Seattle, Denver, Philadelphia, Newark, and New Orleans want to play sanctuary politics, they can explain to thousands of stranded international travelers why their city's ideological grandstanding just shut down their airport.
