And by "shocking," I mean in a good way. It's been so long since we've seen real journalism and the actual speaking of truth to power that it's almost difficult to process.
BBC presenter Laura Kuenssberg sat down with Iran's ambassador to the UK to discuss the war as well as what preceded it, as Ali Mousavi learned to his surprise and displeasure. Kuenssberg started off by noting that "your country is under attack," but almost immediately pressed Mousavi to explain the massacre of civilian protesters. Mousavi seemed initially stunned by the question, attempted to deflect the blame to economic sanctions and "foreign aggressors," but Kuenssberg was having none of that (transcript mine):
Other than some of their fictional content that IS presented as fiction, I'm not a fan of the Beeb, but this presenter (a rather honest job title, BTW) showed greater moral courage than PM Starmer (IMO, those B-1 crews should "bomb" 10 Downing Street. With the contents of their planes' toilet tanks).

First Grader’s ‘Any Life’ Message Sparks Major First Amendment Ruling

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of an elementary school student’s First Amendment rights after she was punished for adding the words “any life” to a picture of “Black Lives Matter.”
The student, with the initials B.B., said she added the message while in first grade in 2021, inspired by a lesson on Martin Luther King Jr. She shared the drawing with a friend.
The school principal told her the drawing was inappropriate and punished her, according to the Pacific Legal Foundation, which represented the family in the case. The principal forced her to apologize, banned her from giving drawings to classmates, and excluded her from recess for two weeks.
The parents, who didn’t find out about the punishment until a year later, sued the Capistrano Unified School District in San Juan Capistrano, California.
“Today’s ruling affirms what should be obvious: Students don’t lose their constitutional rights just because they’re young,” Caleb Trotter, senior attorney at Pacific Legal Foundation, said in a public statement Tuesday.
PLF has been, for several decades, a nemesis for the tyrannical California Coastal Commission. This case will give Progs another reason to hate the PLF.
This school principal knew that the student acted within her free speech rights, but the principal believed the student and her parents could not afford to do anything about it. @#$% like this has been perpetrated by PS educrats and teachers for decades. Punchbowl News reported that Trump told Johnson this in private conversation earlier this week, and the House speaker then relayed it to a small committee of GOP leadership on Tuesday. The report was based on four sources who heard Johnson recount his conversation with the president as he tried to convey that a housing bill isn’t nearly as important as the SAVE Act, the GOP plan to force every American to prove their citizenship to vote—a blatant voter-suppression attempt.

President Donald Trump secured a critical immigration victory after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit paused a lower court ruling that would've blocked deportations to third countries. The intervention arrived only hours before the lower court order was scheduled to take effect.
Without the pause, federal immigration enforcement faced the prospect of halting thousands of removals involving individuals with serious criminal convictions.
The dispute began when U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy, a federal judge in Massachusetts appointed by former President Joe Biden, ruled that the administration's third-country removal policy violated constitutional due process protections. Murphy ordered federal agencies to change the deportation process. Under his ruling, officials would need to attempt to remove a migrant to their home nation or a destination approved by an immigration judge before considering a third-country transfer.
Murphy tried to entangle deportation efforts in judicial fiat ... and got slapped down.

Japanese automaker Honda just cancelled the production of three planned made-in-the-U.S.A. electric cars, including the 0-Series SUV, the 0-Series Saloon, and the Acura RSX — and the company says it will write off massive losses as a result.
Still, better than building EVs nobody wants to buy. The company said the EVs had to go to avoid future losses, complaining about the “current business environment where the demand for EVs is declining significantly.”
Progs will blame Trump, but in the real world the cre ... errrr ... blame is with gooberment EV-vehicle mandates and the many consumers who do not want to buy the things.

On Wednesday, ABC News came out and said that the "FBI has warned police departments in California in recent days that Iran could retaliate for the United States attacks on its regime by launching drones at the West Coast."
It claimed it had actually read the alert, which it claimed said, "We recently acquired information that as of early February 2026, Iran allegedly aspired to conduct a surprise attack using unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United State Homeland, specifically against unspecified targets in California, in the event that the U.S. conducted strikes against Iran. We have no additional information on the timing, method, target, or perpetrators of this alleged attack."

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt came out on Thursday morning and not only confirmed that it was fake news, but went off on ABC for leaving out a critical element of the alert: the word "unverified."
"This post and story should be immediately retracted by ABC News for providing false information to intentionally alarm the American people," Leavitt posted on her X account. "They wrote this based on one email that was sent to local law enforcement in California about a single, unverified tip. The email even states the tip was based on *unverified* intelligence. Yet ABC News left out this critical fact in their story! WHY? TO BE CLEAR: No such threat from Iran to our homeland exists, and it never did."
ABC tried to make Trump look bad, unprepared, and got a well-deserved mocking smack-down.

However, what makes the Minnesota law so distinctive is the provision on home inspections. The law states that, in addition to securing state permission or certification for the possession of existing weapons, owners must “agree to allow the appropriate law enforcement agency to inspect the storage of the device to ensure compliance with this subdivision.”
So new sales of these models would be banned, while existing weapons could only be retained if owners agree to home inspections. ...
I'm pretty sure the USC clause requiring search warrants trumps state laws.

What's ironic that, if the organization known as Black Lives Matter was changed to say White Lives Matter, they would have been deemed racist. But Black Lives Matter, a name that's racist in its own right for putting one ethnicity above all, is ok.
