Senator Fetterman supports the GOP voting ID law just passed in House
To those who support the new voting ID the GOP support and just voted on in the House, think about how it will affect women and their ability to vote.
To get a birth certificate costs at least $30. If you married and your name is different than your birth name, you have to pay to get a copy of your marriage license which could cost up to $5o if it's available which sometimes it isn't. If you are on your second or third marriage, you will need all copies of marriage and divorce papers which will cost more. Manywomen can't afford this, and this bill affects women more than men due to only women changing their names for the most part.
This bill is a very expensive poll tax in another name and an attempt to make it much more difficult for women to vote, which is the goal of the GOP as stated by many in power.

If you can afford a state ID, then perhaps voting isn't your biggest worry.

Voter ID has overwhelming support from American voters, so I doubt this problem is as widespread as Democrats want us to believe.

Ummm, shouldn't one have a copy of their birth certificate and marriage license already? Even if one doesn't already, getting copies of those docs is highly advisable (e.g. to obtain a passport). Let's pretend the cost for the documents one should already have is $100. That's a one-time cost for documents that are potentially useful for other necessary purposes. BTW, anyone who already has a REAL ID compliant drivers license already has an ID that satisfies SAVE Act ID requirements.

Although I disagree with Fetterman a lot, he's become one of my favorite and one of my more respected politicians simply because he doesn't vote simply on the grounds of Trump hate.

I needed my birth certificate for the required US ID that was added to driver license renewals. I got it from my county register of deeds office. For an extra fee, I had it certified. It took, maybe 10 minutes and less than $20 dollars. It's less trouble than getting getting extra napkins at a restaurant.
So maliaSmith, welcome to the DU. You'll fit in there just fine if you can twist any, and everything bad to be a result of Trump policies.
Over 80% favor the picture ID in order to vote. Having one is necessary in today's society. Go out and try to find a legal citizen of voting age who can't cash a check.
Consider doing your own research and forming your own fact-based opinions after hearing both sides of issues However, you won't last long on DU with that attitude.

It is beyond racism and misogynistic to think minorities and women are so stupid they can't get a photo ID.

Now Hillary Clinton has drawn the ire of the left for saying that an open border was policy.
The left is once again proving they are the true cult in American politics.
