Sixpence None the Richer* is known more for its pop tunes such as "Kiss ME" and their cover of "Don't Dream It's Over," but this one really surprised me.
That trailing, wailing guitar solo at the end just makes this song feel simultaneously overpowering and haunting.

* The band takes its name from a line in C.S. Lewis' book Mere Christianity. Lewis observed that a person dedicating their talents to God is like a child asking its father for six pence so the child can buy a gift for the father. The father is naturally delighted, but only a fool would believe the father is six pence richer from the transaction.
