Former CNN anchor Don Lemon taken into custody, sources say
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/30/us/don-lemon-arrest-minnesota-church-protest.html
Abbe Lowell, a lawyer for Mr. Lemon, vowed to fight the charges.
“Don Lemon was taken into custody by federal agents last night in Los Angeles, where he was covering the Grammy awards,” Mr. Lowell said in a statement on Friday. “Don has been a journalist for 30 years, and his constitutionally protected work in Minneapolis was no different than what he has always done.”
Mr. Lowell added, “This unprecedented attack on the First Amendment and transparent attempt to distract attention from the many crises facing this administration will not stand. Don will fight these charges vigorously and thoroughly in court.”
Mr. Lemon is scheduled to appear in federal court in Los Angeles on Friday morning. Now that he has been arrested, he is likely to challenge the prosecution’s case by arguing that he was not protesting, but rather covering the event as a journalist.

Former cable news anchor Don Lemon was arrested last night, multiple sources with direct knowledge tell CBS News. A source familiar says a grand jury was empaneled on this yesterday. FBI and HSI were involved in the arrest, sources say.
It was not immediately clear what charges he would be facing. CBS News has reached out to Lemon's representatives and the Department of Justice for comment.

If they really want to punish Lemon put him in a women's prison.
Easy peasy Lemon squeezy. :rotf:

Lemon dished hate on Trump for about a decade. Trump was President January 2017 through January 2021. If Trump had taken Lemon's crap seriously and personally, Lemon would have been arrested 7 or 8 years ago.
Lemon was an instigator or organizer of the attack on that Baptist church. Knowing that is one thing; proving it beyond reasonable doubt in court is something else.

Where is the left to tell us that “no amendment is absolute”, and “freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences”?

Hell, regarding his claim about being a "journalist", your friend Uncle Ralphie can still claim the same title as I was a high school newspaper editor. Who is Lemon's employer? I guess that Soros family money somehow counts as being a "journalist".
I'd go back to trying to find out whether a black hole sucked in the Malaysian airplane a decade ago, Donnie boy.

Don has been a journalist for 30 years
That right there is laugh out loud funny. By that logic, the guy who's been trying to see females' lady parts (which wouldn't be Don) since he was a teen could call himself a gynecologist.
I've talked into a radio as part of my job. Does that make me a DJ? Or a radio broadcaster? Or do I just get to pick?

1. Coordinating and helping lead an attack on a church service is not journalism. It's a Federal felony.
2. Speaking hypothetically, because it has not happened, if Scott Jennings led an assault on a Friday service at a Mosque or on a service at a Gurdwara, I would condemn that as well (and it also would violate Federal law, of course).

It's great that he's indicted under a law originally enacted in order to keep the KKK from harassing black church services. :hyper:

That brought to mind another scenario. Let’s say that a group of conservatives went to a black church while a demonrat candidate (let’s say Newsome) was giving a campaign speech there AND that the conservative group, during the “service”, interrupted things and asked why campaigning was being allowed in a church during a church service. Let’s also say that Sean Hannity (who I’m not really a fan of but is as much of a “journalist” as Lemon) was there with the conservative group, went in with the conservative group, and tried to “interview” the members of the church. What would be the reaction of the DemonRat overlords, the minions, and the MSM?
