Scott Adams, who became a hero to millions of cubicle-dwelling office workers as the creator of the satirical comic strip “Dilbert,” only to rebrand himself as a digital provocateur — at home in the Trump era’s right-wing mediasphere — with inflammatory comments about race, politics and identity, died Jan. 13. He was 68.

His former wife Shelly Miles announced his death in a live stream Tuesday morning, reading a statement she said Mr. Adams had prepared before his death. “I had an amazing life,” the statement said in part. “I gave it everything I had.”

No tears shed over here.

Actually, Adams was more libertarian than conservative.

Scott Adams, Disgraced Dilbert Creator, Dies at 68

Quote
Scott Adams has died at the age of 68. Adams first published Dilbert, a comic strip that satirized life in white-collar offices, in 1989. The comic strip became ubiquitous in the 1990s. Dilbert was pulled from wide circulation, however, after Adams degraded Black people in a 2023 rant.

He didn't degrade black folks, it was very nuanced what he said. Leftists don't understand nuance.

There probably are a couple (or more) of poutrage threads on DU parroting misconstructions of what Adams said. It was something along the lines of, if black people really hate whites so much, it would be better for them to live apart. Well, yeah. Continuing to live among/around people who HATE you probably is not exactly prudent and wise.

That word "disgraced", used both here and in numerous other media articles, drives me crazy.

Just who the **** are they to declare Adams was "disgraced".

Gutfeld! had a very good piece on Scott last night.  If you didn't watch it I would encourage you to look it up and watch it.  It was a tribute and it was amazing.

The video of Scott's ex wife reading the last thing Scott wrote was emotional and excellent as well.  Scott accepted Jesus before he died.

Greg announced that he was going to do a public group video chat on Sunday morning with Scott Adams, pretty much well aware of his pending demise as they had become good friends the past five years. I didn't log in but apparently it was quite touching having watched it afterwards.

Unlike libs, I have sympathy even for those I disagree with politically who are diagnosed with a horrid disease. That's what separates most conservatives from left-tards.

The DUmp'Rats have been showing us who they are for decades now. It's probably time for us to believe them.

INGERSOLL: Scott Adams Never Said Anything ‘Racist,’ And He Was Right To Boot

It was never really about what Adams said either, because he really didn’t say anything wrong.

Adams was discussing a Rasmussen poll in 2023. The pollster had found that nearly half the black population in America disagreed with the phrase, “it’s okay to be white.”

At this point in The New York Times’ coverage of Adams’ life, they make sure you know it’s “a phrase that has been promoted by white supremacists, according to the Anti-Defamation League.”

Any well-read reader with even baseline critical thought knows that entire phrase is a giant red flag, to include its attribution.

“If nearly half of all Blacks are not OK with white people — according to this poll, not according to me, according to the poll — that’s a hate group, and I don’t want to have anything to do with them,” he said. “And I would say, based on the current way things are going, the best advice I would give white people is to get the hell away from Black people.”

I want you to know I copy-pasted that quote out from the Times website myself, just so I could say that it was not I who capitalized the B in “Black people,” but The New York Times itself, and notice that the w in “white people” does not get the same treatment, no sirree.

One has to scan through half the article before getting to what I quoted. Speaking personally, writers who pad their writings before getting to their title point frustrate me and I solve that with my browser's Back-arrow.

Adams's comment was premised on the accuracy of the poll claiming that nearly half of blacks disagree with the phrase, "it’s okay to be white." If true, it clearly would be risky for a white person to live in a mostly black community where nearly half resent them for their skin color. So, yeah, Adams's comment is rational, not racist.

All I have to say about that is, white power!

I’m proud to be white. Very proud.
