Very troubling phone call from daughter
She is a DC attorney with a big white-shoe law firm. She is a life-long, active, committed Democrat who has worked as a legal observer at elections, riots, demonstrations and the like.
Renee Nicole Good was a volunteer legal observer.
Now that ICE has been declared by Trump, Miller, and Noem to be a law unto itself, she is (1) worried about when she will be shot while working as a legal observer; (2) in tears about the future of this country; and (3) losing sleep over the world her two nieces (her brother's daughters) will inherit.
She has determined what is needed to become a long-term, legal resident of England, Ireland, or Scotland along with Canada, Switzerland (her great-grandparents), and Germany (where she was born). She also has a lead on a couple of jobs in Great Britain as well as leads on homes for sale there.
I told her that what little bit of an estate my wife and I have will be split between her and her brother with some going to the granddaughters and she can have her share anytime she wants to leave. In fact, I will buy from her her Capitol Hill residence so she pockets that profit.
Ms. Average Old Guy and I have renewed our passports and been in contact with the Swiss embassy(my grandparents).
My community in Northern Virginia has a BIG minority population -- Hispanic, Muslim, and Asian. We have seen almost no ICE activity, an occasional arrest is all. However, we (whom I will not define) have been meeting quietly -- what can we legally do in the face of ICE or NG; how to do it; establishing contact with local community leaders and faith leaders. If they show up here WE WILL NOT COMPLY.

In plain English, this daughter realized that the tactic of obstructing ICE and CBP agents carrying out their lawful duties and acting to provoke reactions by those law enforcement agents can lead to unplanned consequences.
The solution is easy. Make noise and wave signs and record video of them near ICE and CBP agents to your hearts' content, just don't obstruct them. Especially not with cars that can become deadly weapons.

A "legal observer" has no legal power. Hell, by that reasoning one could be a "porn observer" and wander onto any porn set claiming they deserve access due to their supposed status.

my guess is your BIG minority population is not here illegally.
You lefties see a minority and immediately think they are here illegally

It is amazing how many people have ignored what happened when that lady's vehicle crashed into a parked car after being shot. That doesn't look to me like it would be the same kind of damage cause if all she was doing was trying to get out of the way and not trying to run someone over.

That is also true in my neighborhood and place of work. The other side of the immigration coin is that there are "consequences" for people who immigrate LEGALLY.

She was accelerating when she hit the ICE agent and in death her SUV continued to accelerate.
BTW. I've noticed that MSM folk are playing word games, pointing out that she did not "run the agent down" to evade the simple fact that she clipped him instead of hitting him squarely.
