For those waking up, the backstory:
President Trump Announces the Capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro (https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2026/01/03/something-serious-is-happening-in-venezuela-right-now-n2668805)
We have reports of multiple explosions rocking Caracas, Venezuela, right now. It was initially unconfirmed, but a major US military operation is underway, which could be part of the Trump administration’s ongoing campaign against narco-terrorism vis-à-vis Operation Southern Spear. For weeks, narco-boats have been taken out through airstrikes. Yet, there are reports that this could be an anti-terror operation, with strikes being conducted to degrade Hezbollah and Iran's capabilities in the region. The two are the same, to be honest.
Trump did tease that something was going to happen on land in Venezuela soon. Some land strikes already occurred, but this is a significant operation. Capturing Maduro is quite the surprise. Nice work.
UPDATE: Massive strikes ordered against Venezuela by Trump. President Nicolas Maduro and his wife were captured. A press conference will be held at 11 am today. Delta Force was part of this operation. Troops on the ground confirmed.
Naturally, the DUmmies are wetting themselves over such actions...

Will Democrats call this an illegal action?
And demand removal and prosecution of all involved? Folks, this isn't remotely close to legitimate and the UN is probably going to condem it and demand the release of their leadership. Democrats need to stand together right now, label this illegal and the distraction we know it is and make this the red line.

I was expecting a swift execution style spectacle; perhaps even a ticketed invite only event at Mar a Lago.

Apparently, you haven't already read or heard that Maduro has been indicted in the United States. But obviously MS-13 NOW and CNN haven't bothered to mention that yet.

Boy, you can't get much more specific than that, can you?
The new wrinkle in American law: arrest first, and figure out the charges later. Saves on paperwork, right?
It has worked for despotic rulers throughout history, so why should we be any different?
Sure, Maduro is a cruel selfish despot. It's not like that puts him in some kind of unique category all by himself.
Another DUmmy with reading comprehension issues.

"criminal charges in the United States" - there may be grounds for saying he's rigged Venezuelan elections, but US charges are going to be dubious. Trump, of course, claimed he didn't want to be "world policeman", so this sounds like bullshit.
"kinetic action" - **** off, you catchphrase-repeating moron. Stop trying to make "kinetic" happen.
"protect and defend those executing the arrest warrant" - again, **** off. The attacks were all over the city. They were to draw attention away (not just from any arrest, but also from Trump's friendship with the child rapist Epstein), and probably kill several innocent people.
"protect U.S. personnel from an actual or imminent attack" - once more, **** right off. You set up a show-kidnapping (including Mrs. Maduro). There was no "actual or imminent attack" - you attacked, and anticipated that Venezuelans would defend themselves, in their own country. Calling this "an actual or imminent attack" is Nazi-level bullshit - it's what they did with Poland.

14. What charges? It can't have anything to do with drugs since Trump just pardoned a major trafficker to the US.

This is a distraction from Epstein, the J6 anniversary and millions losing health insurance. As a side benefit, Trump will grab oil and minerals on his way out the door. Democracy my ass. He's destroying democracy in this country, so we know it's not that.

The DUmp is littered with anger, which is their natural state anyway, as this story is still developing. Bottom line is the DUmmies and the left in this country will stand against anything President Trump does.

Has any DU-member reflected on Trump having taken out a Putin ally?

Wann bet money on some variant of the following: "Obviously Maduro became a liability to Putin, so Putin ordered his lapdog to do the dirty work."

Those explosions you hear aren't coming from Venezuela; it's the implosion of the Democrats' pet theories about "Trumputin".

We were thinking the same thing during the investigations into Trump and his associates.
And since you were wondering, Maduro is being indicted for:
-Narcoterrorism conspiracy (21 U.S.C. § 960a)
-Cocaine importation conspiracy (21 U.S.C. § 963)
-Possession of machine guns and destructive devices (18 U.S.C. § 921(c)(1))
-Conspiracy to possess machine guns and destructive devices (18 U.S.C. §924o)

What are the charges against Venezuela's Nicolás Maduro?
https://www.npr.org/2026/01/03/nx-s1-5665617/venezuela-nicolas-maduro-charges (https://www.npr.org/2026/01/03/nx-s1-5665617/venezuela-nicolas-maduro-charges)
Venezuela's Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, face criminal charges in the United States following President Trump's announcement early Saturday that the U.S. attacked Caracas and took them into custody.
A new indictment unsealed in federal court in New York charges Maduro with narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine-importation conspiracy and weapons charges. Flores and other senior Venezuelan officials, including Maduro's son, are also facing charges.
...
The new indictment adds to charges against Maduro and other Venezuelan officials that were announced in March 2020 during the first Trump administration.
The new indictment, https://www.justice.gov/opa/media/1422326/dl (https://www.justice.gov/opa/media/1422326/dl) . How many Dummies claim there is no indictment or charges against Maduro?

Apparently, some on the left are going with "Putin is the winner in all this because he will use it as justification for further aggression". I kid you not.
This is why it's so hard to argue with people on the left. It's not that their views are so well-grounded in fact; it's that if facts fly in the face of their views, they'll manipulate those facts to somehow support their views.

I have seen it online. I don't doubt the fact that Putin would do exactly that but just how much weight it would carry with Trump is another thing. As usual the pretzel logic of the left is in full force.
