Some guy was bitching about immigration & "illegals". Another guy, a big guy with a beard & hunting cap said "You don't know what you're talking about. We're all immigrants. The only ones who aren't are Native Americans. They were here first." The other guy shut up & went silent.

Yet another poorly made up story, but let's pretend that it's real...

First, the "Native Americans" came here, too. They didn't just materialize out of the ground, but for sh!ts and giggles, let's pretend that they did. They materialized out of the ground and were the owners of all that is now the USA. What happened to them? What happened to them is that unfettered "illegals" overran the country and crapped all over the inhabitants that were here when the "illegals" got here. Now, let's say that the "Native Americans" could turn back time AND had the means to stop the "illegals" from coming, what do you think that they would do? They would do exactly what normal and sane citizens of the US want the government to do: stop the illegals.

That the "redneck" holding forth in the bar didn't distinguish illegals from legal immigrants is probably evidence that the :bouncy: is fiction. Even conservatives I've "seen" who want less or zero legal immigration make that a clear distinction.
