Oklahoma State University students speak out about staff member who reprimanded student for TPUSA hat

Melisa Echols, who serves as coordinator of student government programs at Oklahoma State University, recently scolded a conservative member of the legislative body for paying tribute to Charlie Kirk and wearing a Turning Point USA-issued Trump hat during one of the group’s meetings.
Now, Echols is once again under fire after multiple former students have come forward with allegations of their own pertaining to her mistreatment of conservative students.
Ashley Peterson, one former student, told the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs that “t is not at all surprising” that Echols reprimanded the student.
“Melisa Echols regularly demonstrated that conservative ideology was not welcome in the SGA at Oklahoma State,” Peterson said. “I regularly felt criticized and sidelined because of my conservative views, even during my time as the student body president.”
Peterson also claimed that Echols attempted to thwart her bid for student body president by disqualifying her on a technicality, namely, not turning in a budget on time due to a school Wi-Fi failure, despite receiving 66% of the vote. This claim was dismissed following an appeal to the student government court.
She also noted that other candidates were successfully disqualified on the grounds of similar technicalities.
Another student, Amanda Botts, served on student government and alleged that Echols showed bias against conservative student organizations.
Crap like this will continue until the consequences are sufficiently severe - IMO, can and ban (from positions having to do with education). Educrats won't see the light until they get lots of heat.

FBI’s Big Sweep: Five days, numerous cities and one big bite out of crime
https://justthenews.com/government/security/fbis-big-sweep-five-days-numerous-cities-and-one-big-bite-out-crime (https://justthenews.com/government/security/fbis-big-sweep-five-days-numerous-cities-and-one-big-bite-out-crime)
Director Kash Patel’s FBI has been building fresh alliances with local police for months, and that effort is now paying big dividends as a sweeping crime crackdown disabled illegal enterprises in cities nationwide that hit everything from the Mafia to drug cartels.
...
Bongino said the recent successes in such cities as Milwaukee, New York, Philadelphia and San Antonio were the outgrowth of enhanced partnerships with local police departments through Homeland Security task forces and that many more are forthcoming.
"Early on in his term, President Trump made clear to Director Patel and me that he would not tolerate criminal disorder, gang violence, organized crime or unsafe streets," Bongino wrote on X. "He told us in clear and certain terms, 'go get em boys.' And, along with our dedicated federal, state and local partners, we did."
He also wrote: "We rescued thousands of children, arrested nearly 30,000 violent criminals, seized thousands of kilos of dangerous street poison, and we investigated and arrested factions of the mafia, foreign terror organizations, and violent street gang leaders."
My emphasis. Local PDs - if not local pols - welcome assistance that gets hundred or thousands of criminals off the streets. Unsurprisingly.

NBC Host Gets Schooled: Scott Bessent Calls Out Media’s Inflation Spin
https://wokespy.com/nbc-host-gets-schooled-scott-bessent-calls-out-medias-inflation-spin/ (https://wokespy.com/nbc-host-gets-schooled-scott-bessent-calls-out-medias-inflation-spin/)
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent pushed back against NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker on Sunday, accusing her of cherry-picking economic data to paint a distorted picture of inflation under President Donald Trump’s administration.
...
“Mr. Secretary, coffee prices are up 19% from a year ago, beef is up almost 15%, and bacon is up almost 6%, just to name a few. So when are all grocery prices going to come down, as President Trump promised?” Welker asked.
“As much as I like you, you like to cherry-pick,” Bessent replied.
“You know, when we came in, it was ‘eggflation, eggflation, eggflation.’ Egg prices are down, gasoline prices are down, and overall inflation since President Trump has come in has come down. We inherited this terrible affordability crisis from the Biden administration.”
I long for the good old days when Rs only had to correct actual Dems campaign ads.

FBI arrests 'anarchist' over 'assassination plot' targeting Pam Bondi (https://www.the-express.com/news/us-news/188620/fbi-arrests-anarchist-assassination-plot?9=)
The FBI announced the arrest of a 29-year-old Minnesota man accused of "putting out a hit" on Attorney General Pam Bondi.
On October 16, Tyler Maxon Avalos was detained after a TikTok user alerted authorities that Avalos had put out a "threatening post" with a photo of Pam Bondi that said, “WANTED: Pam Bondi / REWARD: 45,000 DEAD OR ALIVE (PREFERABLY DEAD).”
Picked this particular article because of the quotation marks in the headline around anarchist and assassination plot. While I know it's standard procedure in actual journalism to assume innocence until proven guilty, actual journalism is rare anymore, and the choice was likely made for other reasons.

Inside Just Stop Oil's 'toxic' culture: Sex assault claims and infighting
https://inews.co.uk/news/inside-just-stop-oils-toxic-culture-sex-assault-claims-and-infighting-3962417 (https://inews.co.uk/news/inside-just-stop-oils-toxic-culture-sex-assault-claims-and-infighting-3962417)
Activists of Just Stop Oil have been accused of targeting and abusing “young female staff and volunteers” amid a “toxic culture of shame and silence”.
The climate pressure group, founded in 2022, is known for its tactics demanding the phasing out of fossil fuels – often leading to court action, dozens of arrests and even jail sentences for its supporters.
...
On 28 September, an email was sent to the group’s more than 100,000 members. It alleged the HR department at Just Stop Oil (JSO) was aware of serious accusations against two males from multiple women, dating back to 2022. The allegations include “grooming, coercion, sexual assault and rape”.
The email, which was sent from the group’s central email address, was the work of a self-proclaimed whistleblower who claims the moral cause of JSO had been prioritised over sexual assault allegations.
The Met Police could not say if it was currently investigating any allegations of sexual assault or misconduct relating to Just Stop Oil.
Sexual abuse among lefties? How unshocking. I won't be holding my breath to see if London police investigate this seriousness.

Glamour Has Named Their 'Women of the Year' and It Will Ensure You Never Take Glamour Seriously Again
If you were to ask me who I think should take the title of Woman of the Year, I'd have some serious contenders for women who really did change things in the world for the better. Riley Gaines, Gina Carano, Sydney Sweeney, and, of course, J.K. Rowling. Each of these women did something that either played a part in or directly affected a massive swing in our culture.
But according to Glamour, one of the most popular fashion magazines in the Western world, the title of Women of the Year should go to two women who garnered an element of infamy.
The first is Ms. Rachel, a children's YouTube personality who became a breakout success for her children's programming, resulting in a Netflix deal, a toy line, and a collaboration with Sesame Street. She's become something of a household name in day cares and toddler homes everywhere. In a way, I can understand this choice because Ms. Rachel is a success story. She went from zero to childhood hero in the course of a handful of years.
But there's an issue. Rachel Accurso isn't exactly quiet about her politics. She features a "non-binary" performer on her channel and, at one point, invited transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney to appear on one of her videos. She wished kids a "Happy Pride month."
For many, the line with her was crossed when she appeared to become pro-Palestinian through her open support for children in Gaza, which would have been fine, but she seems never to mention the Israeli children who are under constant threat, or even the ones who were murdered on October 7. Accurso says she sees all children as "precious and equal," which is fine, but, oddly, she never mentions Israeli children. In fact, she didn't seem to really care about any of the children involved in the conflict until Israel began its war with Hamas.
But while Ms. Rachel found success, the other Woman of the Year is a real head scratcher.
Rachel Zegler.
If you don't remember Zegler, she was the central figure in the flop that was Disney's live-action version of Snow White, a film so bad that I actually wanted to leave halfway through it, but couldn't because I was reviewing it for you, my readers and YouTube audience.
Everything about the film was just awful, but Zegler didn't help a bit. Her constant attitude toward the original Snow White was atrocious, giving off the impression that it was a sexist story that was a product of its era. According to her, she and the rest of the cast and crew were fixing the story so it was more modern.
Moreover, she had a penchant for entitlement and divisiveness, such as wishing Trump voters never find peace and, in one Instagram story, saying "Free Palestine," a seeming jab at her Snow White co-star Gal Gadot.
This effectively crushed Zegler's career. As I write this, Hollywood seems to be putting in its best effort to revive it for some reason, though it doesn't seem to be working, as few people actually have any patience left for Hollywood's most annoying brat. This Woman of the Year moment from Glamour seems to be just one of those avenues through which they're trying to beat that particular dead horse.

The Media Line: Israeli Airstrikes Kill Senior Hezbollah Members in Lebanon Amid Ongoing Border Tensions
https://srnnews.com/the-media-line-israeli-airstrikes-kill-senior-hezbollah-members-in-lebanon-amid-ongoing-border-tensions/ (https://srnnews.com/the-media-line-israeli-airstrikes-kill-senior-hezbollah-members-in-lebanon-amid-ongoing-border-tensions/)
Israel’s Air Force carried out a series of strikes deep inside Lebanon over the weekend, killing several senior Hezbollah operatives involved in arms trafficking and field operations, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
Among those killed was Ali Hussein al-Musawi, identified by the military as a key Hezbollah weapons dealer and smuggler who helped move arms from Syria to Lebanon. The IDF said al-Musawi played a central role in the terror group’s weapons procurement and rebuilding efforts following earlier Israeli operations. He was targeted in the Beqaa Valley, an area long associated with Hezbollah’s logistical network.
In a separate strike near An-Naqoura in southern Lebanon, the IDF confirmed the death of Abd Mahmoud al-Sayed, described as Hezbollah’s local liaison in the al-Bayada region. Military officials said al-Sayed coordinated between the group and area residents on both economic and operational matters.
According to Saudi news outlet Al Hadath, one of the strikes in the village of Al-Nabi Shayth may have also killed a member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps who had assumed security and military duties in Lebanon following the decline of Syrian President Bashar Assad’s control over parts of Syria.
