Well, I just texted my MAGA Dad.
As you know, I basically cut off associating with him last October, when I found out he was going to vote for RUMP.
I texted him the following message:
So how do you feel about Trump tearing down the East Wing of the White House to build his ballroom? With zero permission or accountability? And spending $260 million taxpayer dollars to do it? What if Obama had done that?
He's read it, but not responded.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
He's either pissed at me, or ashamed, or maybe both.
I probably shouldn't have done that, but I'm just soooooooooooooooooooooooooo angry about this!

1. In real life, the new ballroom will belong to the government of the US, specifically the executive branch, not Donald Trump.
2. In real life, since donated private funds will be used, "permission" is not required, and "accountability" is irrelevant. Given Trump's decades of experience in large project management, the project will probably be better managed than regular government projects, vastly better than OhBummer!'s still unfinished Presidential Library.
3. In real life, the project is being funded by donated private funds, not that the truth matters even slightly to Coventina.
4. In real life, why would a conservative care, IF donated private funds were used? Given Coventina's age - sexagenarian or septuagenarian - her father night remember that the East Wing is not part of the White House - just connected to it by a stand-alone corridor - and that it was built in 1942 by FDR, not in the 18th or early 19th Century. The East Wing is just an office building with little heritage/history associated with it. Being about 75 years old, it may be dumpy and well frayed about the edges.

Where did the legacy media find such ridiculous claims, other than their dark and remote locations? It has been stated all along that President Trump was funding this project of renovations with private donations and perhaps some of his own family $$$.
I guess the leftists have nothing else important to complain about the President early this week, so they've settled on such an insignificant non-controversy. Trump Derangement Syndrome on full display.

I would guess ashamed that you would spread lies like the claim about the ballroom being taxpayer-funded. Perhaps confused about why you are so distraught over nothing. You think Trump is doing this to satisfy his ego? He isn't the only politician with a huge ego.

I for one hope dear old dad is worth millions, lives a very long life, and leaves nothing to his daughter. Maybe he has other kids that he can give it all to, or maybe he'll donate it to the NRA or GOA.
And I wish Coventina a very long life as well. Watching her inheritance being used by TPUSA or maybe PragerU ...

The first East Wing was added by TR in the 1900s. FDR tore that down and built the current East Wing in 1942. In the 1950s, Truman had to gut and rebuild part of the WH itself because it had become unsafe with age and improperly done previous alterations.
This whole up-and-downer has zero to do with anything historical or heritage and solely with who is doing it, TRUMP!!!!11111111111

IIRC, the "coven" in her name coventina refers to her past (and likely current) embrace of witchcraft/Wicca. Unless she repents from that her eternal destination may be different and its warmth VERY different from his.

The other thing that always cracks me up is the scene near the start of the movie when Buford comes up on the group of young guys stripping the car.
