He is tearing down a national monument.
For many years now, the White House has stood the test of time. Yes, it has gone through renovation and repairs. But to tear it apart to put in a ballroom is a terrible mistake. The East Wing has some great history and it can never be forgotten or replaced.
Pathetic display by a thug who doesn’t understand the meaning of history and the importance of what he is tearing down.
This will take years to complete, but he does not care! He just does whatever he wants! Hell, he may never see the complement of the his own stupidity.
Other presidents knew the historical value and the meaning of history that the White House brings to those who are lucky enough to live there.
But this idiot doesn’t even want to understand and that is a pitiful reminder of how he has no interest or respect for the history that it brings to this country.
And to the construction companies who are doing this job? Shame on you for even taking the job! Oh by the way, when you finally finish the job? What for it, he will stiff you, even though it’s taxpayer who are footing the bill, good luck with that one!

If Obozo was doing the same you would be cheering.

Quite a few US President have made alterations and/or additions to the WH. Truman had to do major renovation because some of the structure had deteriorated and was dangerously unsound. Various recent Presidents changed one or more rooms to accommodate their favorite recreational activity - e.g. a bowling alley or work-out gym.
IIRC, Trump is adding a reception hall for celebrating nations' visiting PMs, presidents, etc. and their accompanying officials. [Sarcasm] Worse still, like Nancy Reagan's China, Trump is doing this with private, not taxpayer, money. Horrors compounding horrors!!!!111111111 [/Sarcasm][/color]
To DU-grade Progs, normal is an outrage when Trump does it.

The Tuesday leftist outrage marching orders have emerged, as this topic is mentioned in every stinking leftist website and newspaper today. I wouldn't give a damn who is President that makes renovations to the White House, as it constantly needs to be done to update a hundreds of years old property.
Keep clutching pearls over irrelevant issues, and perhaps you'll realize why you keep losing elections.

Sounds like they're running short on things to bitch about. Slow news day I guess

He's just rearranging the furniture so it will be more to his liking for his next 2 consecutive terms he will be serving until he is ready to abdicate the throne to Barron... :fuelfire:

Okay, here’s what I got out of that post:
“Blah, blah, history, something, something, no respect, blah, blah, other presidents, etc., etc., history, and so on, blah, blah, Trump bad.”

Trump is not tearing down the White House. At. All. Here's what he is and will be doing:
Trump’s $200 Million Ballroom Addition Is Larger Than The Existing White House: What We Know (With Photos)
https://www.forbes.com/sites/maryroeloffs/2025/07/31/trumps-200-ballroom-addition-is-larger-than-the-existing-white-house-what-we-know-with-photos/ (https://www.forbes.com/sites/maryroeloffs/2025/07/31/trumps-200-ballroom-addition-is-larger-than-the-existing-white-house-what-we-know-with-photos/)
Key Facts
Called the White House State Ballroom, the addition will be approximately 90,000 total square feet, which is significantly larger than the 55,000-square-foot White House as it stands now.
Renderings show a massive building standing in place of the current East Wing, which serves as office space for the first lady and her staff, and connected to the main White House by an enclosed walkway.
Trump and his donors have said they will raise the funds necessary for the addition, which is expected to be completed "long before the end of President Trump’s term," the White House said Thursday.
The White House called the ballroom a "much-needed and exquisite addition," and renderings show a massive gilded space with coffered ceilings, chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling arched windows.
The ballroom will be separate from the main building of the White House but its "theme and architectural heritage will be almost identical,” the administration said.
The East wing is connected by corridor to but not part of the White House. The first East Wing was built in the early 20th Century, during TR's Administration, as an entry and coat room for social gatherings. The current East Wing was built by FDR in 1942, housing a movie theater and office space. The first First Lady to use the East Wing for her own office was Rosalyn Carter. IOW, Trump is not "tearing down a national monument". Trump will be tearing down a mid-20th-Century office building and replacing it with a ballroom capable of handling the large gatherings that currently use tents on the South Lawn, which doesn't work in cold and inclement weather.
Did any DUmmie dare point out that the East wing is not part of the White House and that it was built in 1942, not the 18th or early 19th Century? ETA: As of this post, no, no DUmmie is that informed and honest. How many even know the East Wing is not part of the WH I won't speculate.

Leftists pooping their pants out of context? I'm shocked. Had a feeling there was some missing reality from the outbursts, just hadn't gone looking for it, thanks for doing the leg work :cheersmate:

Regardless if its official name, it will always known as The Trump Ballroom so he can live in their heads rent free for decades, maybe centuries, to come. It will be his everlasting troll. :-)
