Looking for bed ideas
Hi all,
Mom and I have been using air beds for a long time because of the lack of ability to afford real beds. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for affordable or free real beds. Ideally fully assembled because I am not a handy person that way, and mom isn’t either. Don’t want to raise money for one at this time. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
LOL he's waiting for someone to suggest he start a fundraiser for the beds. If they don't suggest it, he will.

1. Have you tried sleeping on a regular mattress recently?

I had back surgery and slept on an air mattress for awhile because
I could make it softer or firmer as needed at night.
I then went back to a regular mattress which felt as hard as a rock
and I couldn't get any sleep, tossed and turned all night trying to get comfortable.
I cannot sleep on regular mattresses now.
Loved the air mattress so much I eventually bought an air mattress type mattress.
First suggestion made. Wonder what Matt thinks of it.

Just tired of air beds since in my experience they have to be replaced too often and they are especially hard on mom at her age. Hi IrishDem!
No sale.

The mattresses are comfortable and inexpensive.
Get a frame at a place like a thrift store.
Often used plywood as the underlay. Often places like Lowe's will do up to two cuts for free. So if you know the measurements, they can but it to size.

Was wondering about them. Thanks! The store is about 10 miles away.
Wow, why didn't Matt think of that in the first place?! :lmao:
The set up is in place, how long before the ask comes out?

8. Sine you're computer literate, go online and search for "Local Churches that provide beds/bedding".

Many churches have free mattress and bedding programs. St. Vincent de Paul or Salvation Army are good for a start.
In the city where I live (tho it's too far to be of help for you) one of our area churches runs the "Sleep in Heavenly Peace" program that builds and delivers wooden twin beds and mattresses for those in need. Local charities work in conjunction with them to provide pillows and bedding. These, too, can be found online or call local churches to see if they can help. You don't have to be a member of the congregation.
No, this isn't what Matt wants. Nothing is too good for his mom, she needs new stuff! He's going to pooh pooh this idea and go for the money now that it's been suggested.
Should be fun to watch.

Go to the local landfill I’m sure you can find some there or maybe go to a homeless camp and get some from them
If that doesn’t work maybe try a fundraiser :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Maybe Matt could ask the guy who delivers their food or gives them free rides. ::)

Why?
It's not like that guy contributes to Mattie-boi's Go****Yourself® Beg-a-Thons...
