FBI Director Kash Patel on Thursday announced that the FBI and the New York Police Department (NYPD) teamed up to stop a potential school shooting at a New York City high school, after receiving a tip.

The latest intervention comes after Patel revealed a similar move earlier this month, where authorities thwarted a potential attack at a North Carolina preschool. The suspect in that threat allegedly posted online that he intended to "shoot up" a preschool, injuring or killing 20 black children.

Patel said the New York City operation was carried out after a tip was made to the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center. The alleged target was Benjamin Cardoso High School.
