We had an ICE scare last night
Our friend Sam, who is from Liberia, was pulled over by local cops in a traffic stop. It's unclear to me why they pulled him over; he was coming home from work, not speeding (you can't speed on our road right now because it's closed except to local residents--that may be why he was pulled over; he's the only black person who lives in this neighborhood). Anyway, the cops pulled him over and found that his vehicle registration had expired.
He called us, and my husband went to meet him on the road. The sheriff of Bucks County has been criticized for cooperating with ICE agents, so we were terrified, as was of course Sam. Sam is here legally and in fact had just the day before received papers extending his work visa. We were all afraid he would be taken nonetheless.
It turned out the cop was cool and let Sam go with a warning. He came to our house and renewed his registration online.
It was a sickening experience.
Sam has lived and worked here many years. He pays taxes. He has never committed a crime (until last night, I guess). He is a kind and gentle man who takes his grandmother to church every Sunday morning.
We all had a beer and caught our breath.
Until it happens to you, the fear that someone you care about with be disappeared is like nothing you've ever experienced.
That DAMNED Trump!

1. Very scary, of course eventually they'll come for us. They'll have a reason why we can't be here.

That is absolutely correct. It is TERRIFYING. Without giving details, I am petrified. I know they thrive in the cruelty and want us all living in fear, but…

A-fisking I will go ...
We had an ICE scare last night
Our friend Sam, who is from Liberia, was pulled over by local cops in a traffic stop. It's unclear to me why they pulled him over ... the cops pulled him over and found that his vehicle registration had expired.
Local cops pulled "Sam" over, not ICE.
"A traffic stop" has zero to do with ICE.
Maybe other states do differently, but in CA, the top left corner of the rear license plate has a sticker with the registration month, and in the top right corner is the sticker with the year, that is color-coded. I doubt that CA is unique in the registration year being visible, so "Sam" was probably pulled over for suspected or known expired registration, not the color of his skin, as DUmmie cyclonefence insinuates.
("Sam") called us, and my husband went to meet him on the road. The sheriff of Bucks County has been criticized for cooperating with ICE agents, so we were terrified, as was of course Sam.
A third party driving up and intervening did not set off alarm bells with the cop? Really? IMO, this claim is evidence the :bouncy: may be fiction.
A sheriff cooperating with Federal law enforcement? Shocking! But for some reason, in this :bouncy"-tale, no masked plain-clothes-clad ICE agents jumped out of the hedges or rose bushes. An ICE scare with zero ICE agents? ::)
... the cop was cool and let Sam go with a warning. He came to our house and renewed his registration online.
IOW, had "Sam" paid his registration in a timely way, none of this wolf-crying :bouncy:-tale would have happened ... ASSuming it is not fiction, of course.
It was a sickening experience.
A police or sheriff oficer enforcing vehicle registration law is "sickening"? How so?
Until it happens to you, the fear that someone you care about with(sic) be disappeared is like nothing you've ever experienced.
Who was "disappeared" in this :bouncy:-tale? Not "Sam". Not DUmmie cyclonefence's husband. Not the cop. Not even ICE agents, since they were never on the scene.
Whether fiction or fact, this :bouncy:-tale was empty fear-mongering.

That's rich coming from the group who specializes in grave dancing, grave pissing, and wishing painful deaths on folks who don't agree with them.

This is quite literally their only entertainment: hoping and wishing for others to suffer.
A good example:
My neighborhood July 4th 'parade' was a bust. Nobody showed.

My neighborhood July 4th 'parade' was a bust. Nobody showed.
Our neighborhood has a yearly July 4th “parade”.
It’s always been small, but today it was nonexistent.
Maybe 15 adults walking
Maybe 5 kids on their bikes.
Two large golf carts with maybe 2 adults w/ 4 kids
And 4 cars followed
And one City fire truck
Lame.
And then our local park by the public elementary school
has the “neighborhood” group’s hotdogs and water, sodas
I just drove by,,,,,park ‘party’, pathetic turnout.
I counted about 20 cars,
Couldn’t have been 50 to 60 people
And maybe 12 firefighters getting their free hotdogs
And the weather is good, low 80s
Mostly cloudy.
NOBODY wants to celebrate this 4th
Why when this fricken tyrant is shitting on American Democracy
And EVERYONE who showed up apparently are WHITE,
with the exception of one Asian family, and one Hispanic family
(from a quick look by me)

Who wants to celebrate today’s America? Where cruelty, bigotry, and selfishness are what our government stands for.

I Googled it and Bucks County has license plate scanners so the LEO wouldn't even have to be paying attention to find expired registrations. The scanner would alert him to the tax dodging vehicle.
It's almost like probable cause or something. :-)

We had an ICE scare last night
I had an ICE scare a few hours ago at a pool party. I needed to refill my tumbler with more Sangria and ice when I discovered that the ice cooler was empty. With temperatures in the high 80's I feared my Sangria would soon be piss warm without any ice but the host relieved my anxiety when she brought out another bag of ice from her spare freezer.
I can't help but think this would have never happened if kamala didn't have the election stolen from her last November.....
