NEW: Jobless claims just hit an eight-month high. According to the Labor Department, 247,000 Americans filed for unemployment last week.

Are we great yet?

Why only look back 8 months?

First I haven’t looked this up and it’s probably not true, but it made me think of something we need to do that the left did constantly.

From here on out we need to compare Trump’s economy to Biden’s from the day Biden took office. Always.

Well, if you set the time span of the "Initial Claims" graph here, https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/ICSA , to 5 years, you can see that the monthly claims have been ranging between 190K-260K since November 2021. The 4 highest months were during LIEden's term, and another LIEden-term month is tied for 5th with May 2025. So, yeah, knowingly or unknowingly, DUmmie Miles Archer chose a time span that hid the 4+ years of context and that this supposedly horrific number was not the worst in that 4+-year time span.

Given how low-factual-information the average DU-member demonstrates they are, it's hard to tell whether DUmmie Miles Archer lied-by-omission or is ignorantly parroting some ProgMedia source's lie-by-omission.

ETA: I see from the DU thread index that no DUmmie thought to check the broader time context for the hype-claim.

They (meaning the DemonRat overlords, their MSM propaganda arm, and their mindless minions like DU) are consistently dishonest.

I think it was yesterday on The Five when the more ignorant than a DUer Jessica said something along the lines of "Trump claimed he was just going after the bad guys so why was ICE going after a 17 year old soccer (or something or other) player?!" After pushing that talking point a few times, Dana finally told her that they weren't going after the 17 year old. They were going after the dad and the 17 year old just happened to be there.

I'm beginning to wonder if they are physically and mentally incapable of telling the truth.

I'm guessing that most of those jobless claims came from recently fired federal employees that never really did anything anyway.

Do those - poor things - even remember how to update a resume?

Has she tried dyeing her hair Purple and adding a few sleeve/neck tattoos along with a septum ring?

Give that a try at the next SSDI interview I would not be surprised if you have a completely different outcome.  :cheersmate:
